Hi all. Just wondering when and how central post stroke pain disappears I suffered my ischemic stroke back in June last year and then in about November I developed the stroke pain. I started off taking amytryptoline which didn’t work so I was put on gabapentin (2, 300mg tablets a day)A bout 4 weeks later still no change, so a couple of weeks ago my dosage was upped to 4 a day Am I expecting too much to soon? Hi all Another post from me about CPSP again sorry. Just wondering, of those who’ve suffered from it and managed to get it under control, how it felt and happened? So since Tuesday I’ve been taking 2700mg of gabapentin a day, upped from 1800mg. Post stroke pain

Hi all I am in my 6th month recovery after my stroke. I spent 8 weeks in an NHS hospital then a further 4 weeks in a rehabilitation centre. My stroke was L cerebellar infarct Nov 22 2021, then recurred a few days later,  L vertebral artery (L VA) occlusion, likely arterial dissection from neck injury. Post stroke pain

Going back to my earliest memories of being in hospital and coming home I suffered no pain or discomfort. It was within the first 6 months that the swollen left foot appeared and pain from left foot to eye socket was experienced. I improved in that regard after year one but by 2023 I had tried just about every pain pill the nhs have to block out the pain to no avail. Central post stroke pain

My partner is currently in a rehab centre. 3 months ago had a stroke but this pain has now kicked in and she’s in so much pain. She’s obv taking a lot of medication which doesn’t seem to help. She’s not taken any anti depressants but could these help? Is there anything I can do to help? I feel so helpless and she’s obviously mentally not in a good place. Will this pain ever cease? She is in agony 24/7 it’s awful to watch. Hoping for any help that maybe out there. Thanks
