Been to the fair here in Nottingham and one of the rides had this bear guarding the entrance. But it’s a very unusual colour.

Has anybody ever seen a white bear before?

There can’t be many bears in Nottingham and I never knew they liked fun fairs.
I think you spotted something not much seen around and about.
Maybe a stopping off point in a migratory route.
Do they eat candy floss?

Maybe you should consult a bear expert?

I don’t know much about bears, although I do have a neighbour called Rupert.
Albino? Yes it’s possible,
A migrant bear working on the fair? Again it’s possible but even payment in candy floss could be unlawful so I doubt an honest showman would risk it.
We need an expert opinion here.

it could be a Polar Bear as it looks like a winter/ice themed ride?

I’m so pleased to see this thread! I used to do a lot of photography but at the moment I can’t deal with the weight of the camera. However I did manage with help to set my camera up on a tripod pointing at an area where I know that birds sit. I can then control the camera for focus and settings via an app on my iPhone. I was both pleased and surprised by the results!

This might surprise you , this grass snake is just 4” long. Just emerged from a clutch of eggs in my compost heap. Every year when harvesting compost in winter from from plastic composter would find empty white leathery eggs

Oh the blue tit is a proper poser, showing off his impeccable plumage. You’ve caught it pin sharp with nicely blurred background. very well done.
I too have problems with the weight of a camera these days, plus I’m trying to manage left handed. I have tripod and remote, I just couldn’t bring myself to give it a go, using the excuse it’s too much trouble.
I take ham fisted photos with a mobile phone that have to do.

Well done and thank you, this might be the incentive I need to dig out my gear.

@Pds
You take some unique and interesting photos Paul, I wouldn’t have thought that the snakes were so small, fascinating to see though. Natural History is a very compelling subject.

Keep on keepin’ on

Thanks for another interesting portrait with it’s own history, a very natural history.
A Flying Dutchman, no less.

@EssexPhil , A what? I’m open to all suggestions but that one is right outside the box. I’ll check if such things exist.

I think the bear means well, he is certainly upright in standing and demeanour. Probably just lost his way. I’ll take back the candy floss. Actually I do like it myself, though it has a tendency to get all stuck up in the beard.

Just one question, when is International Candy Floss Day? Oh just one more question. Did I miss it this year?

Candy floss is called either Cotton Candy, or Spun Sugar clouds here. Floss Candy on the other hand describes what covers the bits of men and ladies at the pool or beach…which is not much.

Trouble sleeping? You and Strings are up late!

And now I’m off to bed, night night :kissing_heart:

Surely wearing candy floss at the pool to cover our bits and pieces would only end in disaster the moment we wade in? It sounds like fun though and I’d certainly be up for giving it a whirl. :+1:
