Hi Anne I forgot to tell you that on the last day we talked which was the 10th she sent me this picture saying she was on full oxygen and having loads of tests which made me think that she couldn’t breathe for herself and that’s why I think she’s not around anymore

Hi John, the device ahe has supplying oxygen is just to increase her oxygen levels. She is probably struggling to take in as much oxygen as she needs so they are supplying hed some to help ease her breathjng. If she couldn’t breathe for herself she would be in an induced coma I would think. She seems reasonably alert in the photo.
Hopefully she will be in touch with you soon. It is natural to worry about our friends when they’re poorly but try not to over worry. Would someone be in touch with you if she was very very poorly?

Not heard from her still.
I’m doing ok walking around holding my stick most of the time and trying to keep my good leg straight at the same time. Still trying to go down a step.

How frustrating for you. Hope they can rearrange your appointment quickly for you.
If they can’t arrange hospital transport for you are there alternatives that you could use? Don’t know if you could get a taxi and claim the cost back?

I think it is Stroke Prevention Day today so guess it was in relation to that. It is getting mentioned more these days but still not enough known about it until you’ve either had a stroke or caring for someone who has.

Ok Anne I didn’t know.
There’s more help for people with dementia than us. Everytime I se the add it makes me so mad don’t they realise stroke changes lives too

You’re right it isn’t heard about as much. The Stroke Association did have a series of ads last year on tte TV which I found quite emotional & hard hitting but that could have been because I’ve had a stroke.

Hi Anne just letting you know what’s happening.
Last night I was doing my exercises and noticed that my foot wasn’t turning like a knife anymore I don’t know if it’s because of the way I lay which is sideways with my bad foot on my good one straight or what.
I have also increased the amount of 1 leg stands and squats from 20 to 30.
I also do hand pulls using my stretch band to strengthen my arm. Last night in bed I noticed that a couple of my fingers could bend and touch my thumb but I couldn’t straighten them again. Hope your ok.
