That’s great news that you managed a walk. It’s a good idea to take advantage of the weather whilst you can especially at this time of year. Each and every time you go out for a walk things should start to get a little bit easier.
The advice about consistency and repetition is key to stroke recovery. That is how you get the brain to rewire and remember how to do things. Keep trying with that fork however frustrating it is right now the more you do it the easier it should become.
Am doing ok still getting bad times where I think I will be like this forever.
I can now walk around the kitchen without the stick. I keep practicing going from room to kitchen without using stick just holding it lightly. I have got my step and have it set to number 3 out of 4.
Did I tell you what happened when I got collected for my botox appointment?
Am trying to walk from room to hallway as much as possible during the day.
I can walk round kitchen without holding on to anything so. My aim eventually is to be able to walk around the bungalow not holding on I’m doing the repetition bit.
If I get the guy again and he does the same again I am going to report him.
Been focusing on what I can get moving, my leg. Not heard from electrode people yet. For some reason I keep feeling fluid around my stroke elbow any ideas? Still practising walking without stick on the floor
The fluid could be as a result of you not being able to use your arm properly. Lack of movement means the fluid can’t drain away as it would normally do.
I’ve found a couple of videos on how to wake up the stroke arm but not sure if they will work.
They are from a guy called Nathan. I also follow analise . I can walk around the kitchen without holding on or stick. Am also focusing on doing same in the room.
I’m having to fight my never getting better thought and found this on YouTube
I too agree with all those statements & and everyone would do well to follow them. I might also feel it to pass on to other people who may be struggling.
In relation to my arm and hand I have pretty much full use of them again. It took a lot of hard work at the beginning and I did get a setback when I had my frozen shoulder but all in all the few limitations I have don’t really affect me on a daily basis. I don’t think my arm and hand were as badly affected as yours though. My biggest issues are with my leg and progress is extremely slow/non-existent in this area. Just keep gping with your exercises the dtrength will build up over time. It takes a long time to get it back.
There’s just no grip happening Anne. I can move my arm to stop my ready meals falling off the side when I’m having my dinner but other than that not alot.
