After hearing the recent news from Brian May that he had what they called a minor stroke, I got thinking about a few things stroke survivors have to engage with as they move along in life after the fact. Firstly, the term minor stroke is a phrase fraught with possible misconceptions. Did Brian have a stroke with a small radius of damage? For anyone who is not a Queen fan, and possibly as a bit of pop trivia, Brian May is lead guitarist with the bad and he wrote “Keep Yourself Alive” which was released as the debut single by the band in 1973.

I should clarify in case of any confusion here, Queen in this case is the pop/rock band and not Her (late) Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Keep Yourself Alive btw is a brilliant song and worth looking up.
