Well, well. 3 years later and a new symptom

Hello!

I hope you are well.

Just an update, since the last post on this subject was a while ago.

My symptom is I can’t hear! Well, I cant hear low frequencies in my left ear. It came overnight, like literally last Friday, and my root cause via doctor google, is Otosclerosis - brain death on the left hemisphere etc.

I’ve got an appointment with hearing doctor (can’t remember the title) to, I hope, to get it sorted because my right ear is already down to about 30% (historic hearing loss with age).

In the meantime, should it fail, where is the resources on sign language?

Answers on the postcard.

@MattJC sorry you’ve got a new issue with your hearing. Hopefully the audiologist (?) will be able to provide a diagnosis and more importantly some treatment to improve things for you. There’s a lot they can do these days but of course it depends on what’s causing it.

As for sign language resources- probably loads on YouTube. Hopefully you won’t need them.

I considered sign language when my hearing suddenly started disappearing. By bedtime I wouldn’t have heard a full brass band in the room.

That was about 8 months after my stroke. Was sent to ENT to get it checked out, was given hearing aids for both ears and I’ve never had an issue since. I’m over 4yrs post stroke now and think my hearing is now better than before the strock.

So don’t go looking at doctor google and misdiagnosing yourself, google cannot consider the full picture to make an accurate diagnosis. Leave those sort of prognosis to the real life experts.

Yes, there is but I’m looking for a proper, not qualification as such but, business sign language. Any ideas?
