Hilary and I want to share this easy, naughty but nice, recipe with you.
It’s great to share something nice every now and again.
I’m right side disabled but this is within my ability range on a good day.

Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake
A quick and easy, naughty, sweet treat,
for two,
easy & quick.
Equipment
A microwave oven
A pair of mugs
A small bowl, or jug
A tablespoon for measuring
a fork for mixing.
Ingredients
4 tbsp self-raising flour
4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 medium egg
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp vegetable oil or sunflower oil
a few drops of vanilla essence or other essence (orange or peppermint work well)
2 tbsp chocolate chips, nuts, or raisins etc (optional)
Serve with ice cream or caramel sauce.
Method
STEP 1
Lightly grease 2 mugs.
STEP 2
To a small bowl, add 4 tbsp self-raising flour, 4 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp cocoa powder and mix.
STEP 3
Add 1 medium egg and mix in as much as you can, but don’t worry if there’s still dry mix left.
STEP 4
Add the 3 tbsp milk, 3 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil and a few drops of vanilla essence and mix until smooth.
If you are using them, stir in 2 tbsp chocolate chips, nuts, or raisins and mix again.
STEP 5
Divide the mix equally between the two greased mugs.
STEP 6
Centre a mug in the middle of the microwave oven and cook on High for 1½ mins, or until it has stopped rising and is firm to the touch.
Repeat with the second mug.
STEP 7
Serve with a blob of cream or some ice cream.
Tip
I soaked the raisins in a drop of sherry to soften them.
Give one to a partner or friend and have the other yourself. (or be greedy, eat two, really)

The BBC recipe treats this as a recipe for one, but there is enough to make two ‘mugs of cake’.
As they say “The proof of the pudding is in the eating.”
