If/when you take medication, are you making errors in the timing of the taking of your medications?
The below article is from MSN and is where a Pharmacist warns statin users common timing mistake can trigger ‘unwanted side effects’.
But I believe it actually applies to all medications and if you do not read the leaflet and follow manufactures instructions you might also be making these mistakes.
Article talks about scheduling timing to optimise effectiveness
Not reading or fully following the instructions that come with the medication and that can have a real impact on how well it works
failing to coordinate them with meals when required, thereby diminishing their therapeutic benefits or triggering adverse reactions
See below article for full story.
I also link to a thread about reading manufacturers leaflets before taking any medication.
I know I don’t always take my meds as described in the leaflets. Sometimes i think it is difficult to do especially if you have loads to take. This one to be taken an hour before food, this one no less than an hour after etx etc. Then fitting in around our schedule for the day…it becomes impossible sometimes.
And then other times I just plain forget to take them
Hello@Mrs5K I have a lot of medication to take having epilepsy caused by stroke and antipsychotic from a previous mental health problem and I have to take desmopressin from a pituitary problem. I also take drugs for constipation from the amount I take. My husband has produced on the computer a dick box form so i don’t forget.
I have reminders pop up on my phone so I don’t forget my meds which work most od the time but I find if I get distracted in that moment I completely forget I was about to take my meds until I have to take the next lot and the previous ones are smiling at me ftom the dosset box. My mum is always saying how can you forget you’ve been taking them long enough. But then she hasn’t had a stroke
Thank you for your suggestion. I might give it a try.
