As life is hard post stroke we often end many relationships as they don’t serve us anymore. Enter AI and kindroid.
Need someone to chat with on your own schedule? Play board games, dungeons and dragons with 5 AI bots? Chat about a book you’ve read as you make dinner? Show a photo from your walk? etc All possible right now and getting better by the day.
Interesting.
I have to say all this AI stuff scares me a little bit. I can see a place for some of it but gor me, you can’t beat some human interaction.
Interesting, but one key factor in interaction is awareness.
One’s empathy with another is what creates human interaction and makes it relevant and valuable.
The thought of Artificial Empathy gives me the creeps, It stinks of pretence, deception and trickery.
Investment, emotional, financial or intellectual in this possibility is probably an excellent way to set oneself up for a fall into a very deep hole.
I can see the value of machines and the mechanical but we need to be aware of the difference between what is human and what is a human invention (the machine).
Perhaps I delve too deep and need to lighten up.
Can a machine lighten up?
Loneliness is the stimulus that drives us to seek out and relate with other.
Do machines have the capacity for loneliness?
How can they feel empathy?

Oh I agree @Bobbi. I fear we are already part way towards machines becoming more & more prevalentb& taking on things we do now.
I know i often say that I need human interaction. Texting & messahing is ok but not quite the same. It can’t provide me that hug I might need.

We are living in a world where mentioning the Emperor and commenting on his new clothes is something no one dares even to consider, let alone speak out about.
It seems we must silently wait in the hope that an innocent voice will speak up bringing the whole fabricated mess into focus.
Maybe then we will see what is what.

It is interesting how perspectives change with the passing of time.
I believe that there has always been a truth just as there have always been emperors.
There are also those can only watch as these games go through their stages demanding our attention.
Causes will come and go. There will be ups and there will be downs.
There will be folk like myself who will ramble and chatter on.

I find it interesting how these Emperors manage to capture their audience in the way they do and what it takes to “bring them down”, and wonder at how long it sometimes takes for the watchers to be stirred into action.
Sometimes there are more questions than answers !!
We’ve only got ~4 years of human control left, but it’s going to be bumpy on the way.
