One big bonus of having a stroke

@mrfrederickson , you said the running gear is from a Jaguar. Is it the V12 engine from an XJS V12?It must’ve been a tight squeeze to fit it. Anyway, those cars are better with V8s. Better noise, more torque. I bet you miss that car.

Yes and no Johnny

It was a brutal machine and the V12 was a vey tight fit from a Daimler double six saloon mated to a 4 speed manual from an axJ6

Effectively Anne type jaguar mechanically

But very light 400bhp per ton

I could out accelerate a fast bike, and did

Topped out at 153mph on the M40 one afternoon never went that fast again ever anywhere.

It was an experience that I’m over now as I cannot even run down my driveway under my own legs. Sad end to a exciting life

@mrfrederickson , 153mph? Nice. There was one I saw a long while ago, it had a 5.7L V8 (Corvette engine) 400+bhp, 5 speed manual gearbox with LSD (limited slip differential). It was black with silver stripes. He had to sell it in the end. He couldn’t afford to keep it. That and the fact that he almost lost his license for speeding.

My friend in Dover had a shirt block chey v8 in his and it was quick

I sold the cobra in favour of driving my Nissan skyline and the cobra was a lot of upkeep.

Never had a speeding ticket the whole time in fact the only time I was caught was in my Volvo s60 doing 31 in a thirty, how abominable. Had a driving awareness course pushed on me as opposed to the points. Academic now

It is most infuriating but cannot happen again this scooter top speed is 10mph and I’m not game enough to test that out as the other one is as only 4mph

Part of my euro use is speed and spacial speed so it is early days

It’s a great looking scooter. I am sure once you get used to it you’ll test its top speed out. It should open up more independence for you.

Happy scootering.

@mrfrederickson , oh yeah, I’m a big fan of the Nissan Skyline. I’m hoping it’s the R34 model. Best of the lot. It’s a car that can easily seat a couple of passengers and you drive like your backside is on fire. Awesome car.

@mrfrederickson , 31mph in a 30 zone? Ooh naughty. Thank goodness your license is clean.

The gtsR33

And my favourite the r32 get

@mrfrederickson , nice. As I said shame it wasn’t the R34 model. They are still cool cars never the less. They were the sort of cars that worried many BMW M3s, many Audi RS models. Finding an unmodified version of the R32, R33 or R34 Skylines are very difficult now. Many are heavily modified. A good purchase. :slightly_smiling_face:

Agreed and mine was well tweaked with a full racing exhaust and his induction kit plus a short sift gear stick.

It could shit around 400 by I believe and held the road well Wish I had had it for longer than I did but that’s life, I matured and went for BMW sport models in the five series, better family cars and put serious mileage on them

@mrfrederickson , I see what you mean. I’ve always said to many petrol heads the 5 Series BMWs are better cars than the 3 Series. Put it this way, my problem with the M3… is the M5. M5 is bigger, more power than the M3 and roomier. So, your R32 had 400bhp. I bet it was loud with the exhaust kit. I guess you had to put a new manifold on it as well. The short shift kit, faster gear changes. I heard of someone (I can’t remember his name) put a paddle shift gearbox on his R34. He claimed he got some of the parts from a trashed Nissan GT-R. For me, Nissan GT-R is a Porsche 911 turbo beater. Awesome car. :slightly_smiling_face:

Ive never owned a 3 series but in the cobra certainly crossed rubber with a few

The five series in my opinion is the best car ever built and a commensurate all rounder that M6 on the ring was in a class orbits own.

Never got to thinking of getting a Nissan get , sat in a few and had a drive if an ar44 on a track day. But all is academic now as my driving days are passenger only now :joy::joy:

@mrfrederickson , a shame your driving days are done. For me, Nissan GT-R is an awesome car. I’d have that over a Porsche 911. Your right about the Cobra. A real tire shredder. Especially with powerful engines installed. The M6 is also a great car. It’s twin turbo engine had nearly 580bhp. The M5 that I liked had the V10 engine. It made an awesome sound at the high end of the rev count. A German race driver once tested it on the autobahn. He claimed to have got over 200mph out of it. It would’ve worried a Ferrari F430 at the time.

My first five series and it was fully loaded

The real mark of skyline ownership was getting a tuned version to 1000hp and hitting 315kmh or 200 mph, lots of lads in Tokyo filming themselves on the road doing that over th harbour bridge bit too mad for even me :shaking_face:

@mrfrederickson , I remember seeing the videos of such feats. Madness. The engines sounded awesome though. Especially the backfire and spitting of flame on the overrun when the turbochargers spool up. Nice BMW 5 Series. Is that an '05-'06 model? I bet some of the optional extras cost a bit. I’ve always told people to be careful when paying for optional extras. Because some of them can end up ruining the car (i.e. firmer suspension).
