Am actually having to fight a thought that I’ve had for a year now.
The thought is what’s the point because even though I have electrodes and botox at the moment the electrodes won’t last much longer and I’m worried

There’s always a point John. The only way to improve is to keep working at it which you are doing and you are making progress. Just think back a few months where you couldn’t walk much & not without a walking aid. Now you managing some walking without your stick.
Try not to worry about what might happen later down the line just take it a day at a time. None of us know what will happen in daya/weeks/months & you just never know you might not need the electrodes in the future.
Keep going you’re doing well.
Thanks for the advice Anne.
Hi Anne am just wondering am I supposed to put the toe separators over the knuckles of my toes because my toes are short so not easy
Hope you had a good Easter
No, they shouldn’t be worn over the knuckles of your toes. Should be worn in the web spaces between your toes i believe.
Easter was good thanks. Hope yours was ok too..
Ok they are but when it comes to my little toe the under part is at the tip of it
There’s probably not much you can do about that if you have a short toe. I would have the same issue with my little toe.
So far my balance is the best I can bend down and pick anything up or straighten a rug without my toes curling.
I can go up steps but not down with my stick and my splint. I do squats every day as often as possible and my electrodes I use every night but still can’t move my fingers or toes myself.
What gets me Anne is that there isn’t anything in the papers or an add telling people that stroke can kill or change lives forever.
I know it’s about money but volunteers could go out collecting for stroke
That’s great re your balance. That’s a really good place to help with walking etc. I found my splint to be a hindrance on steps & almost took a tumble several times trying to come down stairs so I quickly stopped wearing it if I had to do steps.
There have been some TV ads from the Stroke Association although I haven’t seen them for a while.
If I take my splint off my foot turns 20 degrees.
Used to turn like a knife
Sounds like it has jmproved over time which is good. A little bit further to go yet though.
Have you heard of the news reader called amon Holmes Anne?
Yes, i see he has had a stroke.
Hope your ok Anne.
Am still doing my exercises but alot of times my bad knee hurts all over but I still try to walk.
I’m doing ok thanks.
Well done on keeping your exercises up. I imagine your knee needs a lot if strengthening which will take a while. I have an old knee injury which is really painful at times. When it is I rein the exercises back in a bit until it settles. Do you take anything for the pain? I use diclofenic gel on mine.
I use soluble cocodamol for the pain Anne
Finally got a botox appointment but it’s in may
John
Hopefully the cocodamol helps. It’s difficult because we can’t take things like ibuprofen with clopidogrel.
At least you have a botox appointment. May isn’t that far away now.
It should have been 4 months from Nov.
Sadly late appointments seem the norm these days. My 3 month stroke follow up happened after 18 months. It’s ridiculous.
