Need advice

I think I’ve got a good daily routine started now.
Got appointment to sort my splint out so hopefully I will be starting to improve.
What do you think Anne

I think Lorraine is a godsend aswell.
Don’t know what I would have done without her advice and yours

I don’t take anything for spasms. I am lucky that I don’t get that many. If your baclofen isn’t helping then you may need it reviewed to see if there is anything else that might better suit you.

It definitely sounds like you have a good routine going. This will certainly help you. Hope the splint appointment goes well.

Lorraine is definitely a godsend. She is full of great advice & a mind if information.

Basically Anne it didn’t.
I was advised not to take soluble cocodamol.
I couldn’t have zolmatriptan for migraine.
He gave me 1 box of paracetamol soluble because it costs too much for more.
1 lot of ibuprofen because of cost.
That doctors are not as good as the 1 I had in Birmingham by a long way.
Am going to keep doing what I have been to kill pain.
It works

Sorry the appointment didn’t go as you wanted it to. Drs rarely prescribe paracetamol & ibuprofen these days. I can’t get them at my surgery.

Are you on clopidogrel after your stroke? I was advised that I couldn’t take ibuprofen as it reacts in some way with clopidogrel. Can use it as a gel but not in tablet form. Soluble may be different.

If what you are doing works then just keep up with that.

Yes I’m on clopidigel.
And lansparisol .
B12 tablets as well and antidepressants that don’t work but I’m stuck with them

I’ve been given these exercises for tennis elbow.
Do you think they will work to stop it

Yes, i think those exercises will help wihh your tennis elbow. They’re very similar to ones you can find online. It can take a few months to recover from tennis elbow.

I’ve noticed Anne that when I’ve done my squats, my foot swells is that normal

Hi John,

Yes, squats can cause temporary swelling. I have copied in below what I have found on the internet.

“Yes, squats can cause temporary swollen feet and ankles due to increased blood flow and fluid to the working muscles during exercise, which is a normal response to a challenging workout.”

If it is painful or red though, you should get it checked out by your dr.

Something else I’ve noticed is when I’m sat down I can feel water flowing in my arm and leg on my bad side is that normal Anne

That sort of thing can be caused by nerve issues which I guess you may be having after your stroke. Have you ever mentioned it to a medical professional? I would be tempted to get it checked to make sure it isn’t anything else causing it.

Hi Anne fact is my doctors are useless and worst ones I’ve had.
They don’t really know about stroke things except baclofen.
Can I ask do you still wear a foot splint and use a quad stick?
By the way the occupational therapist just discharged me

If you think your GP isn’t providing you with the help and assistance you need then you can always ask for a second opinion. It is your right to do so. Do you still have contact with the stroke team at the hospital? If so you could always contact them and ask the question about the water feeling. I do still use my foot splint from time to time but not all the time anymore. Sometimes I find it more of a hindrance than a help for example going up and down stairs. I have a walk in stick rather than a quad stick and I use that all the time when I out of the house. Somedays I have to use it in the house too. If I need to go a little bit further then I have a mobility scooter which I use.

Ok.
No I’m not able to contact anyone about stroke things
I have an appointment to adjust my splint next month.
I’ll be glad when I don’t have to wear it all the time.
Did I send you a picture of my new quad stick Anne?
What exercises did you do to get foot to stop turning
Because that is the only thing making me have to use it.
I’ve got a wedge will that help?
Thanks for your help and advice Anne
