Thars good news. Make sure yiu have a list of all the things you want them to.help you with.
Try and be patient with your recovery. There will be ups and downs and good and bad days. Sometimes it feels like you’re going backwards but you’re probably not. I’m not the most patient person in the world so I found that bit really hard but it is important to realise stroke recovery is a long term goal and not an overnight fix.

The kitchen revamp hasn’t even started yet, it’ll be sometime in June/July hopefully. We’ve still got plenty of decluttering to do just in the house in general anyway. But the first job will be to knock down the wall between the kitchen and dinning room. I’m both looking forward to and dreading it at the time

I will show him what I can and can’t do and the problems I’m having.
I have been doing 20 squats, 1 leg exercises and leaning against the wall to stretch my foot and back of heal for about 2 weeks now twice a day.
My good knee is really painful so I got a knee brace .

I use voltarol gel on my knee and shoulder. Is it possible you need to rest your knee a bit to give it chance to recover? Maybe the physio can advise on Monday. Sometimes when you have a dodgy side tge compensating you do withiut thinking about it can then affect your good side.
All I can think about is exercises.
My arm is getting stronger with the stretch band pulling.
It doesn’t slide off the arm of the chair when I lean on it.
Do I need to stop everything except going in kitchen to get my dinner?
It depends on why your knee is so painful.. if you have an injury you might need to rest it more. But you also need to keep it moving. It is fine balance. your best bet is to ask the physio on Monday. You need to make sure you are not making it worse accidentally.

Did I tell you what the physio did about discharging me after 6 months?
John, it’s always good for muscle development to take a day off. Even body builders take a day or two off to allow the muscles to repair and recover. They will alternate days between upper body building, lower body building and cardio.
I myself do an overall body build, tone and cardio 2hr combined training session 4 days a week. The other 3 days is taken up with walks, domestic stuff etc.
I would recommend you lay off the leg work at least, until you see the physio on Monday. This is at least give your knee a couple of days rest, maybe give it a little hot/cold treatment once or twice a day. So put your leg up and put a hot water bottle/heat pad on it for 5mins, then switch to the frozen bag of peas for 5mins, then back to the heat for 5mins. Do may 2 rounds just remember to always finish with the heat.

Just found out that wearing knee brace all day is not a good idea.
I ordered voltarol for osteoarthritis which is what I have head to toe yesterday for next day delivery and I have just found out it’s coming by the 18th.

Last night I tried not having pillow between my knees and still laying sideways with good knee on bed behind bad 1.
When I got up in the night my knee didn’t hurt at all but this morning top of my good leg and my knee was really painful.
I’m now going to use the knee brace anymore as I think that’s the cause.
My voltarol is coming today so am going to use that.

Got community physio coming Monday and he seems nice
Just got the voltarol specially for osteoarthritis and put some on my knee.
It’s definitely helping so am not using anything else.

@nerrad67 a lot of it is trial & error trying to find the best way for you. It sounds like removing the pillow helped but if you have been in a lot of pain with your knee it isn’t likely to stop hurting completely after one or 2 nights.
The knee brace could well be making the pain worse. I don’t think they are designed to be worn all the time. It’s only a couple of days till the physio comes. You can ask them about all those things & resting up till then isn’t going to hurt.
Ok love I just want to get out walking and improve my foot.
Going to put voltarol on at night and morning and keep not using pillow.
