Yesterday I tootled round town and took this very amateur movie.
It was a lovely day and great to get out for a bit.
A lovely day for getting out & about. It looks lovely.
Getting up & down those kerbs shakes you about a bit but so much easier to do all that on a scooter. For me it would definitely be too far to walk.
Nice one Bob. These scooters make so much difference don’t they?
My scooter is no good in bad weather.
It’s not for challenging terrains either.
My mobility is quite restricted so having wheels opens up possibilities.
Places I couldn’t reach by walking have become attainable.
Gotta make the best of any good weather.
It is smaller and lighter than many similar ones, also it folds down compact.
I can just about get it in and out of my car boot, which extends my range.
(see another post by me further down this thread)
I used to use a rollator but I find that quite hard. It’s an advantage to be able to sit down but after a 100 yards I’m completely worn out.
The scooter will cover miles rather than yards, as long as I’m on a comparatively smooth surface and there’s no rain.
I called in at my local library which calls itself a community hub.
I was pleased to discover that a number of interesting events and activities take place there during the week.
I like the way you talk to the young little boy… you’re a natural Bobbi
It was very touching his father had passed the ball to him his sister was a part of it too.
He got control of the ball and suddenly I was there, he looked at the ball then me and started to apologise. I had totally interrupted his moment, you could say it was I who should have apologised.
At crossing lights another young lad walking towards me pressed the crossing button when I asked him to. Youngsters are, perhaps, not the full of themselves cheeky monsters that they once were.
Maybe its just old age mellowing me, though sometimes I have my moments. Just like Mr. Meldrew – I don’t believe it !!
(It was a long movie you did well to stick it out that far, Pando. Thanks for taking your time
)
Looks like it was a grand day for an outing. You need one of those honk horns, save you saying beep, beep.
Wow that’s neat. I keep seeing an advert on telly for one that folds up suitcase size.
My wifes was a tramper 2 so very robust and not for supermarkets really. Did some serious treks but even that had limits. We also met many young disabled with power chairs for outside many a tale of rolling or falling out they didn’t seem to mind the occasional spill. Not for everyone But goes to show WHATS possible
Crikey, that’s another beast of a scooter.
This scooter gives me some independence. I am able to get out and about by folding it down & taking it with me in my car.
I can get my Minimus scooter in and out of the car without help.
Disabled guy getting own mobility scooter in car and out of car.
Everything is rough around the edges as I try to find my way around after being disabled by stroke. There is always room for improvement.
I don’t have to achieve perfection just getting a little better will do for now.
How to
Using my Minimus electric scooter from the car.
I have limited mobility having been disabled by stroke.
The scooter allows me to get around when I reach my destination by car.
It is easy to lift in and out for a totally able person.
It’s a little more difficult, but not impossible, for someone disabled like myself.
An old carpet remnant protects the car bumper and boot while getting it in and out.
I’d love a bigger heavier scooter but it would be impossible for me to transport it.
My wife is the camera person, commentator, director and presenter of our little movie.
I’m just hanging about.
I hope you found all this instructive and amusing.
We aim to please

There’s lots to work on yet. I’m looking at acquiring a small backpack so I can transport things around. (no not a jet pack – but that would be cool)
A friend suggested a bicycle lock and chain to secure it if necessary.
Other bicycle accessories might also be useful, such as a bell or hooter, a front and rear light, and so on.
If if interest trampers come with their own trailer which the chair is powered on to using the drop down ramps …..We went all over
I couldn’t find a Picture of ours on a trailer but here’s the website i hope it may be of general interest…….
Found one of the trailer!…….
I enjoyed Hilary’s cheekiness and your poker face. ![]()
Baldrick, Being cheeky how much is that?
I’m wondering, like Hilary, how much a trailer costs. I don’t see any mention of them on the Tramper website.
Hi Bobbi
The trailer comes with the tramper but I am confident the company will sell one separately. It’s a family company we did visit when we were down that way. Contact details on their website that link i posted above.
Cost of tramper itself plse see my reply to Hilary as she has asked this
Morning HHilary,
My knowledge is from some years back but here it is……
Brand new they were i think around 7000. We got ours second hand it was les than a year old from a guy who had bought new but his condition had rapidly and dramatically worsened - so private sale i can’t remember what we paid - sorry.
Second hand ones - ours was found on eBay but some of the manufacturers local servicing guys buy back and resell and I would recommend this as they would be in mint condition.
Trampers come fully equipped with trailer charger etc amd many accessories & additional features are available like different throttles (on floor or lever instead of twist grip) the list goes on. We had a standard fit.
If you want to try one many national parks have them there may be a hire charge. We did this from snowdonia national park there was no charge ((but we made a donation) and we purchased ours soon after.
For up to date prices i think the website link above may have or if not contact the manufacturer they are a very friendly lot.
Sorry ive not been able to give the exact details.
I remember we were always being asked when we were out I used to carry a pile of brouchures in the tramper to give people!
Thanks for your reply @Baldrick
I like the look of these and if they come with trailer even more so.
I’m sure second hand would be the way to go.
We don’t have anywhere to keep one so, for now, it will have to stay on my wish list.
Hi Bobbi
You can purchase a weatherproof cover from manufacturer if there is anywhere outside- comes in handy for travels if u staying in a lodge or cottage etc too
