Currently 7 month post and although I feel progressively getting stronger my effected side seems to be getting heavier n feeling like more magnetic towards the floor, the limbs have been really tight before this phase, just wandering if this is part of recovery phase quite scary went bk to hospital yesterday to rule out a tia, think was aniexty flaring all my symptoms up
@Nico1986 did the hospital give you any advice on the heavy limbs or say what it might be? Anxiety can definitely have an affect on all your symptoms so it could wrll be that.
I got a heavy leg around 6 months or so after my stroke. Like someone had attached a lead weight to my leg and also feels like someone has glued my foot to the floor.
If yours is anxiety driven it should ease when your anxiety eases.
Best wishes
Ann
No they just did bloods n ecg and tested fr stroke I think is aniexty as all symptoms have flared last few days effected side has mainly been tight before this
I’ve recently switched from warfarin to clopidogrel and hit 6 month end of rehab with nhs that may have brought my aniexty on
It does sound like a bit of anxiety. Finding ways to get your anxiety under control should help with the rest. Easier said than done i know. There is also a thing called stroke decompensation which can bring your symptoms back. That usually happens if you have done too much. Have a look at this link
Hello @Nico1986.
Heavy limbs are very uncomfortable but try not to be scared by them. They seem to be a common phase of recovery for many of us and no-one can predict when or if they’ll happen or how long the heaviness will last. I’m having my own experience with heavy limbs and was working up to sharing it on this forum so your mentioning of it has speeded that up for me - thank you, as I might never have got round to it otherwise😁
I’m going to post it separately as I’m hoping others will see it and may be able to offer some insight.

Hello @Nico1986 - here is the link to the post that Tracy mentions below in her response to your post.
I hope it helps answer your query.

The forum seems to have gone really quiet shame as was real help in my early days of recovery, will have a look for a your post
I think lot of what we go through we are looking fr is reassurance and nobody only other stroke survivors can offer it even then it’s not certain but at least u know others experience it
