Look around you right now, indoors or out, and use a picture to say something about your experience today.
I’ve started using the camera on my phone to great effect.
It is really cold out, not great weather for the outdoors, so wrap up warm. When you get back have a warm drink, sit down and relax then pick a picture to share.
. . . or stay inside and take a picture of something connected with winter (or today’s season).
A hot water bottle, thick blanket, mug of hot tea, cheery fire, or twig in a jar, it’s up to you. It is surprising what you will find when you look.
(You could also include a few words with your image)
. . . or just sit back and see what others have offered.
Eventually we can move through the seasons together little by little.
This is not a competition. It is an exercise in collaboration and sharing.
I am only just beginning to see how sharp these dugital pictures are. I was a bit sceptical when dugital cameras first came on the market - in fact they killed off my interest in photography. I was a keen photographer with the old films, but never switched to dugital and eventually I couldn’t buy films or get them processed and that was it.
Recently, having resisted mobile phones (3G) for as long as I could and then the SmartPhones as long as I could, I now find myself forced to use a SmartPhone to ensure I am contactable in my role. Personally I would not have a SmartPhone or mobile, but it has become a necessity.
Hence my observation that the dugital pictures are extremely sharp and very nice to look at. Maybe I’ll get myself a decent camera and/or smart phone.
I managed without TV for over a year and I managed without a car for over a year. I don’t ever recall missing them during the period when I was abstaining (voluntarily - as in the old TV conked out and I chose not to replace it and the car maybe needed an MOT or something - I can’t remember the exact details).
Certainly, there are things that can be addictive - a bit like this forum really
Very rarely. I don’t subscribe to any of the streaming services like netflix or amazon prime so just occasionally catch up on something I might have missed.
please don’t break your forum addiction - your presence is required
Digital photography has come along way. I can no longer wield my digital camera. It is too heavy. It was one very upsetting result of stroke. No more photography.
A recently acquired smart phone is changing things for me. My disability makes me clumsy and slow but gradually my smart phone is growing on me. In fact I am very pleased with it.
Easy to carry, producing quite decent photos, not difficult to learn, for quite a good price you get a Swiss Army knife of a tool that will give you a weather forecast, map your route, record your journey in pictures and save them for download or upload to cloud later.
Of course there is a host of other functions too.
With a laptop or PC there are good options for post processing too.
I use GIMP, a free image processing application, available on all platforms that gives professional results and can be very useful. There is a learning curve but it is well worth the journey.
So get some pictures taken and share your results.
It’s a diversion that might brighten someone’s day.
That’s very kind of you to say and “I am going to try this, but it it’s not going to be easy!”
Question: Which sporting personality famously said the above in a post metch interview after losing in the final to an even more iconic sporting personality? Clue: It was one of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
Many years ago, I used GIMP as an Image editor - we’re talking 20+ years ago, but only as an alternative to Microsoft Paintbrush or whatever the editor was in those days. I never used it in anger and haven’t even looked at it for many years. It was installed on my home computer running under Windows 95 I still have that machine and the components that came with it, but not in use.
OK, by now, I expect most people reading this have …
I am trying to get used to the editor for the forum and have much to learn, so if the below makes no sense whatsoever, it’s because I am still learning …
… but if it does, then I may have learnt somethink new

Any clues as to what this might be?
Clue: It’s my homemade bersion of a food that is much promoted for it’s health benefits.
This is a work in progress, started on Monday, and I have been burping it for the last three days. This is after today’s burp and it is getting close to being ready to be enjoyed as part of a healthy diet to feed the gut bacteria - I believe it’s a pro rather than a pre but it matters not, it is just wonderful.
