FORUM GAMES -- Amateur Dramatics Online -- August Podcast

I’ve opened a channel to chat, talk about creating a Drama Group and holding a fun and informal audition session.

This meeting is Aphasia and associated difficulties friendly. You will get time and space to make your own noises, ring a bell, clap hands or say Hi. We all need to connect.

Everyone welcome. This is a fun group experience. Your input is important.

Come and go as you please.

Watch this space.

I’m looking forward to meeting up,

Bobbi

I’m sure there will be more, over this weekend.

Thank you to @Mich-mm and @Norma751 for trying out the first session, yesterday, Friday.

There will be more, including later today.

There’s a load more info on this link.

@Bobbi. I think it’s worth telling your story about driving and the story of (10seconds later). I’ve already forgotten who, the fellow who is teaching. and has got a union involved to keep his job, @mikey.

I’ll try to open the online chat today so we can discuss the formation of an amateur dramatics group.

There will be a link here when it is open.

Open to all and any here in the online community at this forum.

I’m still waiting to work with others.

In the mean time here’s a couple of solo offerings for you.

this was poetry from Metaphorest on HitRecord read by myself (Bobbi)

Hi Bobbi
Thank you for sharing your poems , I liked your poems being read in your own voice. Perhaps you could encourage people to write and read their own poems as a first step into your drama project. Or perhaps have a separate Stand alone Poetry Reading Slot. Poetry for Strokes. Inspirational poems for Stroke sufferers
Very best wishes to you and your project from Carol

Thanks, @Cazza2

I’m pleased to share what I am doing. It is good to get some feed back. I hope to continue.

A Poetry Writing project for those affected by stroke is a great idea.

With the talent available in this forum I am sure there will be an interest.

I have tried to get folk to submit recorded versions of their work but so far that has drawn a blank. I think recording and presenting might be a bridge too far. But I would love to see it come into existence.

I’ll continue as I have and maybe my efforts will eventually no longer be a Stand Alone Poetry Reading.

Hello Cazza, welcome to the happy crew, we hope you’ll be happy with us. I’m glad to see that you enjoyed Bobbi’s poems. I’m very interested in what he’s trying to do and I have joined his online chats. It’s early days but I do hope we can get more of our members to participate and share their experiences with us. I have put one or two things on the thread ‘Stroke Zine’. We hoped to produce an online magazine for which others would join us and perhaps put forward ideas, stories, a funny thing happened, and so on, just to give us all a little respite from what we are all dealing with. I hope that perhaps you might share too? There is no pressure at all to post something, far from it, just being on the forum is nice to ‘meet’ others. Best wishes Norma

This is excellent Bobbi - as always.

You are an excellent communicator, motivator and full of life. You keep coming up with ideas and you follow them through.

With your YouTube channel and content including the new podcast you are welcoming a whole new audience. It is my belief and observation that people accessing your YouTube content are not just Stroke Survivors or carers but people from other walks of life.

You have a wonderful personality and this comes through both in your written posts and on your voiced videos and no doubt in your zoom calls (which I am sorry to say I have not yet managed to join).

Truly amazing. Keep going

@ManjiB @Norma751

Sometimes it takes a little application to find what has become hidden.
As always I am trying to move forward.

I’m only just about finding my way.

So much to learn. stuff waiting to be found.
It’s a true delight to make discoveries.

It’s not going to be elegant, sophisticated or smart.
Just doing something, anything, will do for a start.

Here’s what I did.

  1. Put some material together.
  2. Start up Zoom with record turned on.
  3. Record the material.
  4. Extract and edit the audio file.
  5. Create a small graphic.
  6. Tack the audio and graphic together.
  7. Upload to a YouTube account.
  8. Release as a Podcast.
  9. Make available here in the onlinecommunity.
  10. Weigh up whether it is worth the effort.
  11. Dunno, what do you think?

Come back swiftly and do it again.
Check. Mission accomplished. A little late but here nevertheless.

Enjoy !!

keep on keepin on
:movie_camera: :grinning: :clapper_board:

I use Zoom to capture the recording.
I edit the audio in Audacity.
In Gimp I create a graphic.
I use Flowblade to put graphic and audio together and render as a file.
I put the file up on YouTube as a podcast.
I copy the link and post here in the forum.

It’s all done using the excellent free software mentioned above.

The audio could be of several voices, the graphic could use video clips to add interest.
The possibilities are wide ranging. There is scope for expressive and creative efforts and effects.
Collaborative work is definitely a possibility.

So true. We climb and each plateau is a chance to rest, look back and plan the next adventure . . .
