Feeling moistness at corners of mouth but it is dry

6 years ago I had a TIA. Last year the corners of my mouth began feeling moist, mostly in the mornings and drying off at about midday. Sometimes it really is moist, but often it’s not.

Is it a legacy of the TIA ? During the past 3 years my left ear has gone deaf and my right leg wobbles when I’m walking. I assume that these are legacies of the TIA and am wondering if the moistness is another legacy.

Would be grateful for comments. Thank you.

Hello @Mannn - Welcome to the community.

I am unable to offer firsthand experience as I am here in capacity of carer, but there are plenty of members here who have been down your path and will no doubt offer you some advice, share experiences or other.

6 years is a long time and so maybe these things are not related to your TIA or maybe they are.

Have you seen any medical profession practitioners regarding your concerns?

Have you had your ear checked? For example, these days opticians are not only testing your eyes but also your ears.

Leg wobbling - is this gradual over time or has it suddenly come on?

The mouth overnight moistness - have you seen your GP about this?

That’s pretty much all I can think of having not experienced a TIA and just thinking out loud as to what I might think about if I was in your shoes.

Wishing you all the best.

@Mannn Hi & welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of the problems you are currently experiencing.

I think you should speak with your GP about your new symptoms. 6 years is a long time for it to be attributed to your TIA but not impossible. Any new symptoms though should always be checked over. It is highly posdible they sre completely unrelated but your GP will hopefully be able to put your mind at rest and provide some support/hel0 for your symptoms.

Best wishes

FWIW my lips often feel very wet or very dry and it is stroke related. Nothing gives you the stroked out look like licking fake dry lips.
