I’ve started this as I have just had my 2nd stroke and having a means of contacting people seems more important to me this time around. Probably because when it happened confusion and making the first phone call was the main feature.
I reproduce here details sent to me by harimanjaro about the sos feature on mobile phones. Why didn’t I think of this i don’t know, i feel such a wally! Anyway, you don’t have to now……https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/how-to-make-an-emergency-sos-call-from-your-mobile-phone-axuyN8J982Hx
I have a device from Amazon (arrived this morning) which is a button & hangs round yr neck. It’s cheap (comes from China🙄) £15ish and seems to work ok. Im still trying it out and will be downloading it to my nieces phone later. It seems to work ok - I’ll report back
There are more expensive options such as “yourstride” these all look very good but for me at the moment probably the additional expense &subscription is not justified. Definitely very useful for some people I’d be interested of any experiences with it or similar devices.
There’s also Apple Watch but again i haven’t investigated yet. Again any experiences would be appreciated.
Sorry it’s all a bit sketchy but it’s just a start. If the link doesn’t work please say I’ll try another way. Apologies to anyone who’s done this all already or it’s all in another section I haven’t found yet. Hopefully this will all be of some help though.
