Hey there,
I checked existing threads related to cannabis/CBD but I have a very specific question, so I’m starting a new thread.
Is there anybody who’s on clopidogrel AND takes cannabis/CBD from time to time?
I’m asking because -
Pre-stroke: I already had bad tendinitis on my shoulders and lower back.
Post-stroke: the whole thing became so much worse.
I tried everything I can possibly think of, but nothing helped. I want to try good quality cannabis/CBD as a last resort, but I’m aware that certain blood thinners can be interfered by substances in cannabis/CBD.
Background
I’ve tried a few cannabis/CBD products available in-store or online (OTC), but I didn’t notice any difference. Right now, I’m thinking about trying a private consultation service like Releaf to get better quality or more reliable products. However, the total cost (consultation + prescription + meds) can be expensive.
On top of that, my GP could veto it (most GPs have no clue )
Hi @rach-rach just popping by to say welcome to the community. I hope you are getting on ok after your stroke.
I am not able to answer your specific question but I know there are people on here who have tried CBD so hopefully they’ll be along later to offer their experiences. I have added a few links to previous posts in case they help at all.
Hi Ann and rach-rach- After my stroke I had anxiety, difficulty sleeping and consistent leg spasms that kept me awake. CBD(not CBT) saved me- calmed anxiety, stopped spasms and I got to sleep. Amounts mattered. I’d start with 20 mg-if got no results within 45 min., I rake another 20 mg. That always worked. Drops and gummies worked. (I’m 120 lbs–and everone is different.) Didn’t take your med., but I was on blood thinners (elequis and aspirin). Both my GP and Cardiologist were ok with it.
@ axnr911
For some reason I wrote CBT in my initial post (probably because I tried that too ), but I meant CBD. I just edited my 1st post. Thanks for catching it!
If I may ask -
Where do you get your drops and gums? Are they OTC or prescribed?
Hi rach-rach–I buy them on the internet, but I live in the states, and the company I use doesn’t ship to the UK. I just buy OTC, not prescriptions. (It is also available in Health Food Stores). Both doctors gave me the go ahead, and one of them said she has many patients that use CBD. I’ve used it with my blood thinners for about 5 years with no problems. But, again, I am on something different than what you mentioned(sp? )
Hi rach-rach I found this on the net. I’m not advocating for this article. I didn’t read it, but thought it might have some infomation you might be interested in. essed CBD
Yes, that was one of the articles I came cross, actually.
On the other hand, I see articles like this:
I totally understand each case is different and that’s why you need to talk to physicians (I know, back to square 1 ), but I wanted to see if there’s firsthand experience, not in lab studies, if you know what I mean.
