Wordle was much better today. A new starter word for the new month & I got it in 3.

Wordle almost left me stumped with the letters I had. I could only conjure up one word with those letters and thankfully it was the correct one and I managed it in 4 moves.

Yesterday and today I failed to make the connections and in fact I failed to post yesterday. I managed to crack the Wordle in 2 yesterday, but today came close to blowing my run.

Wordle took 5 moves today. I had all the letters on the 4th go but just in the wrong order.

Connections weren’t too bad either. The first 2 came swiftly then I had a small stumble. I was heading in the right direction with it I just could work out the 4th “ed” as it wasn’t the obvious one. 4th came by default.

I also had a good end to the week, though a close shave on the connections which seemed weird until I fluked the win and saw the results. Wordle OK.

Hey Ann - Sorry you blew your Waffle today - I have just done it and it was actually very hard and the words are not ones I was familiar with and so lucky to sneak in and allow the run to continue. Wordle and Connections were relatively speaking a breeze.

Very windy here - things being blown all over the place. Daren’t venture out to see what damage has been caused, but it seems to have quietened down a bit.

Just noticed my spellchecker is complaining about my use of Daren’t as a contraction of “Dare not” - it seems this is a British thing - damned American spellcheckers (despite my computer language setting be UK-English?

Glad you’re back in the groove with the puzzles.

I was just about to call it a day after hitting a black halfway through the connections as I wanted to try to do other things and just as I was putting up a draft post, I had another go and as it often does the overnight background brain delivered - Madonna songs suddenly leapt out at me. Frozen is an amazing song - I used to listen to the extended version on CD single quite a lot. The others in the list …

Anyway, happy to continue the winning run.

I was happy with the puzzles today although felt I could have done a little better on Connections.

Waffle was a great 5*s – a positive start to the week with that. A huge streak of 2 Deluxe waffle wasn’t quite so good though as needed 1 extra move to solve it.

Today the puzzles took me a while. I am very very tired and brain is working on a go slow at the moment.

I did get them all though – by hook or by crook.

Waffle was a solid 4s and my tiny streak continues – a whopping 3 now. Well done on your 5s - 50 is in reach and why not aim for 100. I’ll aim for 10 I think

Oh dear

I guess it’s better to blow out when you’re on a low score than when you’re about to hit a milestone target Well done on the others.

I had a strong urge to get the puzzles done early to see if I would get my Half Century on the Waffle - addictive, which is not necessarily good.

The connections have caused me to pause with half made and half testing the brain.

So I will wait a bit before posting today’s results …

… and so as the day draws to a close, it is that time when all must be revealed. The suspense has been building all day and so let us waste no more time declaring the outcome of today’s puzzles.

Connections - as has been the case recently, the first two or one usually gets the ball rolling before there is a snag and time is needed to allow the brain to work in the background. It seems to be getting good at doing this and so it was today that the first two did indeed come easily and then after a lot of background work the puzzle was solved fairly easily in the end, but only because there is no time constraint, but these are the rules of the game so we’ll take that.

Off to get the ECG done tomorrow - it’s part of the tests my rookie GP suggested. Should be interesting. Was supposed to give bloods for routine tests but the appointments clashed and so the bloods have been postponed until next week by which time I will have become even more fitter with my new fitness regimen

Not sure what is going on with the forum but since the maintenance the other day it is posting all my results double line spaced. I need to raise it with the service desk just not had chance yet. It may be because I am using a mobile phone to upload it but it was ok before.

Well done on the puzzles.

It is not unusual to get minor glitches following software upgrades. I guess if you are supporting multiple platforms and browsers/apps it must be even more difficult, especially if you get dinosaurs like me using tools well past their retirement dates

I expect they’ll sort out the glitches soon enough.
