Connections threw a wobbly and only by luck did I complete it. Wordle - yet another three tries. I have no idea what’s going on, but I’ll take it as it makes up for the miserable connections. Waffle remains less taxing.

The sun is shining and the parks are open!
After a nervy start, managed to get the connections and the other puzzles were fairly routine, though the Waffle run nearly came to an end.
Caught some of the highlights of the athletics and it seems it was not such a good meet for the UK with no Gold in some time, though Golden Girl Keely Hodgkinson did get a consolation Bronze

Connections were a real head scratcher. I got the first set ok then had to go away and have a long think about the rest. I did eventually get there – with a pen and a bit of paper to write it down and try and work it out by process of elimination and some lucky guesses. Hopefully tomorrow’s will be easier.

The athletics results for team GB weren’t good but there were some good events still. Hopefully we’ll come back fighting next time.
Another busy working week expected and I am off into the office tomorrow so that will be tiring (I am already tired). Hope your week is a good one.

Well we had our first frost of the season today. It was strange going out and having to wear a coat and gloves. The benefits of working from home is not having to scrape the car etc

Well done on the puzzles - I hit another wall with connections but managed the other puzzles. My brain is not yet tuned into solving the connections, but I expect I will get there.
I saw on the news about the frost but it was quite mild here - in fact it was T-shirt weather this morning on my trip to the GP. It did get muggy later on but still warm.
I remember scraping ice on the car windows and windscreen and always scraped all glass. I used to be amazed seeing some drivers scraping a small hole in the windscreen and driving off (time constraint no doubt). I thought it reckless and dangerous but it was not that unusual to see at least one such driver on these sort of days.
I also remember, we had a neighbour who had an Allegro and he used to cover the engine with a blanket on cold days! He was a lovely neighbour.

Today’s puzzles weren’t too bad at all although I thought I was going to blow waffle. I made a couple of moves where the letters didn’t end up where I tried to move them to. No idea what I was doing. But I made it with 2 moves left so if I hadn’t have made a few wrong moves I think a 5 was achievable.

I don’t really know what to say about connections. I got the first one then the rest were a mystery and I can honestly say I had no clue what I was doing and just randomly selected things, after a lot of thought, that looked like they might go together. I fell very lucky as I managed to get them all.

Well, I had my repeat field test yesterday and I failed it again so back to Ophthalmology I go. Just when I thought I had escaped their clutches. My new glasses with the prisms in should be a lot better though so am happy with them. Just got to get used to them which hopefully won’t take too long.

My driving licence is a straightforward renewal and so I expect it’ll arrive in the post whenever - the post is dreadful these days which can be problematic as I still use paper billing (much to the annoyance of the service providers)!
Not sure if I’m fooling myself, but now I have become stoic or at least try as much as I can and that means I tend not to get worked up like I used to. The only time when it is tricky is when I encounter incompetence (my opinion) from professionals looking after Mum. I can cope with incompetence that affects me, but I hate it when it affects Mum.
Strangely, I rather think Mum is very much a stoic and has been pretty much her whole life.

I am getting on ok with my new glasses - just feel a little nauseous when I look down byt I think I just have to get used to the varifocal bit as it is in a slightly different place to my last glasses. I am remaining optimistic about my visual field. I figure there is no point mithering until I know what is causing it.
Like you I try & hold onto some paper billing although that is getting harder all the time.

Ok Ann - Just about given up on the Blue and Purple connections as nothing was leaping out. In the end I guessed it and have to say I have never heard of a “Sun Bear” and I have not heard of purple connections in the way they made them, but hey ho!

Rather a dull day outside though there was a bit of sun early on.
The council has decided to waste money on repaving our footpaths having previously wasted £180k of taxpayers money on concrete planters in the town centre. They were put in a few months ago and have now been removed following complaints and vandalism!!
Today’s puzzles were a bit close to the wire. I thought I was going to lose my waffle streak but got there with 1 move remaining.

Wordle was nearly a blow out again but I finally managed it on the very last attempt. Took me ages though as I really couldn’t think of any words that fitted the 2 letters I had. It should have been much easier.
