Well, Thursday has come around again and the weekend is fast approaching. Not sure where the week has gone. Having a Wednesday as my non-working day helps the week speed by even quicker I think. It has turned very autumnal here now and I’m wrapped up in many layers today. It’s far too early to consider heating yet 
Well I had a good morning on the puzzles. After just scraping by on Waffle yesterday I stormed back with a 5*s today. Very happy with that and I now have a streak of 2

In one of my jobs the company operated summer hours which meant something like you worked four long days and took half day off. Most people took Friday afternoons off, but I used to take Wednesday afternoon off and played golf which was rather nice. It also meant I had a quiet office on Friday as almost everyone else was off.

I enjoy my Wednesday off. I take a Wednesday off as it means I get to take a break mid-week which helps me get through the rest of the week. Fridays are good days to get work done as, like you say, a lot of people like to take the afternoons off.
I didn’t even get started on connections today. Only got the 1 lot and the rest were a complete blow out. Oh well, will try again tomorrow.

Connections was good too. All solved. I did have to think hard to get started as there were a lot of similar words. I think they werd being sneaky too many hours using a computer helped me get the blue ones then I was able to separate out all the similar ones which helped with the rest.

I worked through the puzzles and knew the puzzles were not going to be the “obvious” but I saw the Disney Princesses which we have had before !! Though not a Disney fan, I prefer Warner Bros., I worked for Disney for a short period of my career, towards the tail end when I was on a downward spiral

Well, today got off to an ok start with the puzzles but could have been better.
A 2*s on Waffle continuing my streak. I’m now on 6 and aiming for 10. Deluxe waffle though was a different kettle of fish. I didn’t complete in the number of moves allowed and in fact took loads more. Just couldn’t see it today. Oh well, better luck next week.

Hope you had a good weekend and it was a little drier than ours was. After no rain all summer I think we’ve made up for it in the last 3 days. We didn’t get to see the moon last night either – too much cloud. Very disappointed

I’ve been to the ophthalmology clinic today as I’ve had double vision since my stroke. I am finally able to get my prisms built into my lenses – this has taken over 3 years to achieve so I am very happy. I will be seen again in 3 months and if all ok I will be discharged. Yippee.

Wow! That is such a long time to have to deal with this condition. I am so pleased you will now be able to get the prisms built into your lenses. I hope you get the all clear in 3 months’ time
It has definitely been a long road but I can finally see the end of it. Opticians appointment this afternoon to see about some new glasses with my prisms can’t tell you how long I have been waiting for this. Just hope I am not disappointed now

Good effort on the puzzles. Connections were a bit weird to start with but the Eddie Murphy came to be quickly and then had to sleep on it after hitting a blank, but in the end it was straight forward. Wordle - nearly had a blow out, but just sealed in. I don’t mind losing that as it is luck with a little bit of skill. Sometimes when there are four or five potentials and only two or three guesses especially if trying to fit the last letter, as was the case for me today, it is luck.

All in all am very happy with them.
Opticians was a mixed bag. Got my new glasses on order and am excited to get them and see what a difference they make. However, I failed the field vision test iny tight eye 
so have to go back in 2 weeks to do it again. I have everything crossed I pass next time otherwise that would suggest I have a problem with my vision in my right eye. Will see how it goes next time. Just when you think things are on the up.

Hi Ann - well done on the puzzles.
Sorry you failed the eye test - hopefully it was a false alarm? I don’t understand how these eye tests work for stroke related issues and I have never been re-tested in such a short period. Maybe they work like blood pressure which varies throughout the day?
I am guessing you can’t prepare for it by doing some sort of exercises?
I read somewhere that a certain Sir Paul “Macca” McCartney has 20/20 vision and has never needed glasses as he does some Yogic exercises which he learned when they were out in India with the Mahrishi in the 60s.
