Our stock take went ok. Nothing of any concern came to light so all happy. We still have to do full stock takes once a year and just random selections the rest of the time. It has worn me out though so plenty of resting for me this weekend.

I don’t know where your mum gets her determination from but she definitely seems determined to keep going despite everything. Hopefully you have all got her genes & you’ll be able to soldier on well into your 90s too.

Today’s puzzles were ok. Waffle was just 1 star today. Close to the wire but streak still intact. I’m not sure where the silver but comes from it just shows when I share my results. I don’t have an account either so the only difference can be the devices we use.

Wordle was a 5 today. I got 2 letters straight away and they could have fitted correctly into 2 places in the final word but I still managed to get them in the wrong place

Connections i got fairly swiftly today. They do require a lot of lateral thinking & sometimes the last word of each connection doesn’t make a lot of sense and I often take a partly educated guess - more be eliminating those it definitely can’t be.

I don’t do too badly myself and initially I thought the connections were a trap but it was as straightforward as it looked.

Wordle - one of those you can sometimes get but I notice they are getting trickier and you do need to think a little harder.

Todays puzzles went ok. I was lucky to get Wordle. Too many choices if words and plumped lucky on my last attempt as was umming & ahhhing between a few options.

Unlucky with the mir-reading of bottle and rattle, but well done on good overall results.
Connections too clever for me today as RENT and BOOTY don’t make sense to me in their respective categories and I didn’t get going on the snakes so the wine vessels helped me avoid a wipeout.

Well done on yesterday’s results. I’m with you on the connections. I don’t always understand how some of them are connected but try & get them by process of elimination.

Waffle was a very happy 4*s today. I have reached a streak of 30. Think that’s the best I have ever done. I am aiming for 40 now with one eye on 50.

Hi Ann - Well done on the puzzles.

I’m having a bit of a stinker - can’t get going on connections apart from the predicaments, blew out on Wordle ran out of tries as I needed the first letter but guessed wrong on 3 occasions. Waffle done with 2 stars and I think I am about to call it a day, so I won’t bother posting the losses.

Flew threw all the puzzles in a matter of minutes - I get those days and then I am left with a void as I need to find other things to waste time on. I need to start reading again. Last year I read a lot of books but then I got distracted somehow and haven’t managed to read anything for a long time.

Waffle was achieved with 4*s so my streak continues. I’m on 33 now and I think that’s the best it has been. Hopefully I haven’t jinxed it now.

I have tried to increase my reading again. I do love reading but stroke made it difficult. I try & read a couple of pages every night. It helps me drop to sleep.

An okay days puzzling but could have been better.

Hello Ann - Hope you had a good weekend.

I didn’t do much apple picking in the end - we’ve got a parrot and some birds helping to “pick” them. I think someone has released their pet parrot which has replaced the scurry of squirrels that ate all the apples in the two or three years prior. Still it is meant to be their share is the way we look at it. We also get foxes in our garden but sadly no hedgehogs. I would really love to attract hedgehogs but I guess it is difficult when you live in a “concrete” jungle.

I think I didn’t manage to post the puzzle results as I struggled to complete the connections on one day and was too late posting on another. My Waffle run nearly came to an end yesterday, but I completed with zero stars and so today I came back with a vengeance and got five stars.

So again, not doing well on the connections, I have one life left and have made one group connection so I think it might be time to let the brain work in the background.

I’ll post the others in case I don’t get time later.

Oh shame you didn’t get to pick the apples. I hope the parrot doesn’t eat them all. We’ve never had a parrot but do get foxes & hedgehogs & we have some pheasants but we live in the countryside so to be expected. Squirrels and rabbits cause a lot if issues in our garden.

You and me both nearly lost our waffle streak yesterday then. You did muxh better than me today though as I only got 2*s. I took a bit more time on it today as I nearly blew it yesterday.

Well done on wordle. It took me 5 attempts today. I used a new starter word and it wasn’t quite as good as my previous one but let’s see how the month progresses.

Connections were a bit odd I have to say and took quite a bit of thinking about. I did get there in the end. Not sure how and a few lucky guesses along the way. The only ones I really knew were the yellow set. I need to work on my poet / author names in case they come up in future.
