Brain Teasers / Riddles etc

Oooo I had to go away & think about this one a bit.

So we have the words MY & LIFE and there are 1s added in there. 4 of them.

So in my mind that saus

Four ones in the words my life.

That isn’t a saying I know of but I have heard of

For once in my life

I think it’s from a song.

If you say four ones in my life fast enough it sounds like for once in my life so my answer is

FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE

Am I close?

I rather think you may have nailed it Ann.

Letters and numbers. Letters spell My Life and the number 1 separates the letters, but the important thing is the count and that is the four number 1s which as you rightly noticed can be Four Ones which then sounds like For Once and then with the My Life words you get “For Once in My Life”.

What a fantastic way to cue in the brilliant Stevie Wonder with …

Yes, ManjiB, Ann did

it.
Here’s another –

I wonder what we might be looking at here.
So there’s a nail but no hammer and the word coffee possibly spilt in half.
So is the nail splitting the coffee?
There is no hammer, but could this be a nail in the coffin?

Nail in the COF FIN

So that would require the word to be COFFIN rather than COFFEE.

I think we’ll have to let Ann sleuth this one

Ah so I think the nail is not related to the puzzle - rather relatedtoyour comment anout me nailing it.

I am going to say, as a first attempt

Coffee break

Probably because I like coffee break so it was 1st thing that came to mind

Ann–You got it exactly. You have the mind of a scientist/mathematician. :microscope: I’m impressed!
ManjiB–All I can say is with your way of thinking, you are a literary artist. :artist_palette: I’m impressed!

Here’s another one.

Oooooo oooo I think I might have it.

I cheated and wrote it out on a bit of paper. I was trying to take one letter away from Bone and add EAR and see what I could make. I made up all sorts of new animals :rofl:

Then I looked again and realised bone has the word ONE contained within it. There B (-one) + EAR is BEAR :bear: :grin::grin:

That’s my answer.

I might have been on the wrong track here …
I was looking at a BONE and a BACON RASHER which might somehow take be to a BABOON or a RACOON or something along those lines

But, having seen your logic, the answer written on paper and in black and white would indeed appear to be BEAR.

Well done!

Good job! It is indeed “bear”. I have another for you Whiz Kids.

Hmmmmmmm now this one is a challenge.

We have the word WIN or maybe WINE with 2 or 3 Es.

So Win Eees
Or Wine Ee

So Whinny perhaps?

I’m away for a think as I’m a bit stumped.

So, I’ve had another think about the puzzle.

I’ve decided it is probably WIN as I can’t think of anything that might go with WINE

So we have WIN and EEE. When I say EEE out loud it starts to sound like EASE.

So I am going to go for EASY WIN

If it isn’t that then I am stumped

Close enough :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It’s “Win with ease.”

You’re very kind giving me that @axnr911

Now you’ve put the actual answer I can see it. It really took some head scratching that one. I do like a puzzle I definitely had a misspent youth I think

Here’s another.

Oooooo now after a bit of headscratching I think I have an answer…maybe the right one.

So i see the word META which set me off thinking about a social media company and had me completely on the wrong track🤣

Then i put my more sensible head on and realised it was written 4 times so my answer is

METAPHOR

Well I guess that’s another nailed!

I thought 4 teams mixed up and there is still no “I” in team even when there’s four of them!
But that was too silly.

Then I thought "I met her for " - a drink in Sunday?
And then a …

That’s all folks !

Oh I like your thinking there. I met her for…could well be right.

You got it, Ann! I’m beginning to think you have a very high IQ.

ManjiB , I so liked “I met her for a drink”–so funny! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Maybe I’m wearing out your brain cells with these Rebus puzzles. I better let you rest a little for a couple of days.
