Your thoughts are relevant and need to be shared. Continuing a discussion

Continuing the discussion from The criteria to join the Online Community has changed:

Thank you Nicola and those others from the Stroke Association who have initiated this.

I applaud this change and feel that this area is a valuable resource for those affected by stroke. It is great to have somewhere that we can use to discover and discuss the issues that concern us.
It’s been said before but who better to talk about all this than those directly affected.

We are the experts hands on and all.

I do however think it is important to have a conversation with and exposure to folk who simply do not know what goes on in our lives.

In a way I would be pleased if folk in general knew more about stroke and were able to ask questions even make suggestions.

Communication with staff, professionals and the general public is not something to be avoided.

Maybe a section of the forum could be open so this could be possible.

There is a tiered ranking system. A first stage could allow access to just one unrestricted open area for all , further ranking would close the rest of the forum for general access as is deemed relevant.

The first area could allow open discussion, game play, fund raising and information exchange.

Whether that would work out in practise or be desirable I don’t know but maybe it is worth some thought.

Anyhow this thread will give others a chance to say what they think about all this.

keep on keepin on

Hi Bobbi,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us, we appreciate you taking time to share your thoughts on the recent changes. We’ll be sure to reflect on your suggestions when we come together as a team.

Our focus at this stage is to ensure that the community remains a safe space where people affected by stroke can give and receive support by sharing their personal lived experience. As the space naturally develops, we will continue to work with you all to help us to further understand the work needed to ensure the support is meeting the community’s needs.

We welcome all feedback. If you or others have feedback to share, the best way to do that is through our feedback form, this helps us to ensure nothing is missed. To keep things clear, we won’t be adding more replies here.

If you or anyone else has any questions, please do reach out to us through the service desk .

Best wishes

Nicola
