40 degrees in kitchen and 45 in back garden
My house is currently 29.5 I ought to visit my mother this week, but I can’t face 2 hours on the M25
We’ve got a thunderstorm ![]()
due here at about 10 pm, so I’m not bothering to go outside to water the plants. My sitting room is like a cave and very cool, going to sit here until I deem otherwise.
I dont blame you, im not going outside until the temp drops way down.
2 hours in a car be like sitting in a greenhouse.
It’s 32° here currently. I’ve been working in the dining room today which is the coolest room in my house. Think tomorrow is meant to be hit again then getting cooler over weekend. ![]()

It topped out at 37 here, in the shade. Looking forward to some cooler weather next week, though maybe not too much cooler. I’m not ready for snowstorms in July.
I hate this kind of heat.Cant find anywhere to cool off. got fan on and its just blowing hot air around
.
I would rather have cooler weather than this heat. At least a few thick garments help with cold weather. in this heat there is no escape.
Come next week most people will probably say ‘Wish we could have that lovely sunshine again’
Sunshine if fine, being cooked alive is different
.
This is great detox weather - I was outside today and my body was literally dripping from head to toe, both arms coated in liquid sweat. That’s not ‘a little glisten.’ That’s my entire integumentary system flushing fluid at maximum capacity. In a sauna, you sweat to cool down and push toxins out through the skin. In today’s heat, my body was doing the exact same thing but more aggressively because the gradient was steeper. I gulped down electrolytes and water, effectively getting a forced, full-body sweat detox. I call it physiology in overdrive
I lived in a country for nigh on thirty years of my life where forty degree days are the norm over Summer without any sign of rain for months. I get people from hotter climes, like India asking me how I’m finding the heat here? I say, oh it’s a typical Autumn day in Oz
.
I think cold weather is in my familys genes.Siblings live in Canada at the base of the Rockies. it gets really cool there ![]()
I much prefer cooler climes, that’s why I left and my father stayed in the tropics.
My favorite time to be out and about is on a frostie morning. The air feels fresh and new.
My favourite time to be out and about is early evening, especially on cool, cloudy days with a slight mizzle. I am not on good terms with the lark, so spend much of my time fraternising with the owl.
Don’t even speak to me aboot hot weather….i have skin like a Vampire and explode in the sunlight. I get fed up with people’s going on and on about how lovely it is…,bah! Cool soft rain for me, mist and mizzle….funny, I do like Garlic though.
Maybe worth checking to see if you have a reflextion when looking in the mirror ![]()
They won’t think it is lovely when it’s too hot to grow crops or when it starts to impact finances and health. Although having said that, many folk seem okay with dancing towards disaster. ![]()
Now that you mention it……
