Wishing you a peaceful Christmas

Hi all,

I haven’t been here for a while - life has been tough since losing my mum in the summer, but I’m going to try to check in now and again as I realise I have a lot of knowledge which is useful for others.

I also wanted to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and prosperous new year. It’s going to tough for many no doubt, for many reasons. I’ve decided to have a non-Christmas this year - it feels right and it’s massively liberating.

Thanks to everyone who helped me and therefore my mum earlier in the year. I’m currently dealing with ongoing complaints with Ipswich Hospital which in my opinion is a place which is heavily biased against disabled, older people. I’m on a mission and am gaining the support of key people.

With the forthcoming NHS shake up and abolition of Healthwatch, there’s no time to waste.

Sending love to you all.

Hi @EMG72 welcome back to our community, so sorry to hear that your mum passed away in the Summer. Glad to hear that this community was able to help you and your Mum and I’m sure your experience will enable you to help others in the future.

Good luck with your ongoing mission with Ipswich Hospital and I look forward to hearing how you get on going forward.

Have a good non-Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Sending positive thoughts and best wishes.

Regards Sue

@EMG72 hello & good to hear how you are getting on. Sorry you’re struggling since the loss of your mum. It is early days yet and things will get easier in time. I miss my dad daily but am able to cope better a few years on.

A non christmas sounds ideal. Christmas can put a lot of pressure one people and it isn’t always necessary.

You do have a lot of knowledge that many others will find very useful. Hopefully you’ll be able to share some of it when you feel able.

Sending my best wishes for the new year and hope you can start to move forward.

Ann xx

Hi EMG - What a lovely surprise!

It’s nice to have you back and I am sure your efforts to help improve care for the disabled and elderly will benefit many in future times. It is wonderful that you are carrying on the work you started way back and I am sure your Mum will be looking down and smiling - that’s when she’s not wizzing down country lanes on her bike

Wishing you much success with your fights with the healthcare system and even though you are having a non-Christmas Christmas this year, I hope it is a peaceful time for you and your brother.

Take care and see you soon!
