It’s my birthday today. A dear friend sent me a necklace of freshwater pearls, and a note to say she likes them because they don’t match and are odd shapes and colours,but they show us that you don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. All my life, I’ve been castigated for not being someone else’s idea of perfect, and I think those are wonderful words.

You’re exactly right. And in addition, the “imperfect’ ones are often more interesting and beautiful than the “perfect” ones”.

Happy birthday. And what a wonderful present and your friend is right you definitely don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. Imperfect is definitely better in my opinion.
