I am recovering, fairly well I think, all my tingling and occasional numbness is almost gone, my dexterity in my hands is almost normal again, the only ongoing symptoms now are double vision and a slightly affected speech which isn’t slurring but is very soft now and I sometimes have difficulty in pronouncing my own surname!
I am somewhat clumsy at times compared to before and walking feels unsteady, but only occasionally , then I was called into the hospital cardiology unit unexpectedly and had a pacemaker fitted to correct a unstable heart rhythm, too fast apparently.
But considering I am only 2 months post stroke I consider myself fairly lucky compared to some.
Just need a replacement hip and I will be dandy, and cannot wait to get driving again.
That’s great
Thanx for sharing
Remember this if after month 3 or 6 you have new or old challenges resurge - they’ll feel less significant if you can place them along side the improvements
You’ve had a good journey after the initial shock’s destabilisation of what we all take for granted by the sounds of it
How are the emotions, particularly decision making & anxiety?
Good luck with getting a new hip (nuclear powered bionic implant? )

Sounds like you’re progressing really well. That’s really great to hear & will give many others lots of hope.
Hope your heart rate is now settled & here’s to being back driving again soon. Are you seeing ophthalmology for your double vision? I have a prism fitted to my glasses to help with my double vision. I’m off to ophthalmology on Tuesday to see how i’m getting on with it.
I have not seen anybody about my vision problems yet, I was kinda hoping that it would corrrect itself as other symptoms have, too early to tell yet I suspect.
My heart rate hasn’t caused any issues, in fact I didn’t know it was a problem until called into hospital suddenly, that came a a shock, !, at least I have a built in jump start now.
Hopefully your double vision will correct itself but might be worth asking for ophthalmology referral as they can give you some eye exercises to help etc.
Meds causing it I suspect
