Until recently I was doing fine!

I was a professional pianist and because of my job, spoke several languages. Time moved on, I had a stroke to my Cerebellar, causing all kinds of things. Last year, I had new neighbours, for the sake of brevity I shall say from last September, I experienced leaks from upstairs, ceilings down, rotting carpets and holes in floor, no overhead lights. Added to which I now have stage four colorectal cancer, high bp, and a few other little things! If I maybe a little graphic? In my urine I started passing, what resemble pink/white shavings. Tho no fever. For days I had a body temp of 30. and terrible resting dizziness, tho bp: Normal, but cognition is not. I do not know if I am getting enough oxygen to my brain. I hate to come here whingeing LOL :) If any ideas and suggestions, this I would value :)

First, welcome to the community @Octave, and I sympathise with all of the challenges that you are facing. I think you really do need to see your doctor about your urine, high temperature and cognition.

Welcome - I was a professional Violinist. Your cerebellum means you face vestibular (balance issues). You are right to come on here - it shows your fighting spirit, and yes, there are things you can do to pick yourself up.. but your situation is critical.

I’m not going to tell you what to do, except point you to my channel which might have something in there for you once you are out of danger / settled https://www.youtube.com/@Start-Again-xyz/videos

Right now : Your liver is not able to maintain sufficient body temperature ; you are in urgent need of medical care. Your urine must be investigated to rule out any spread (metastasis) or a new primary issue. It could also be related to a kidney or bladder issue. Once you are medically stable, contact your local council’s Health department. Use the words ā€œvulnerable adult,ā€ ā€œstage 4 cancer,ā€ ā€œstroke survivor,ā€ and ā€œuninhabitableā€ to describe your situation.

For now seek some magnesium urgently to offer some respite to your heart and calm down your nervous system, lower bp etc. Then slowly start picking up the pieces! Good luck, Roland

Dear Roland :):slightly_smiling_face: Thank you for your kind advice, which I will act upon! I only have to hear someone say they were a violinist, then I go into raptures about the Dumky Trio, ditto Schubert, or the Franck Sonata! Warm Regards, Jon

Of course we light up ; it took me 2 years to realize I can listen to music all day. even if I can’t play my fiddle … so rejoice !!! Dumky , indeed any Dvorak still inside my DNA… my angle was solo Bach… and I played Vieuxtemps / Viotti concertos with orchestra in Switzerland back in the day - what was your specialty ? English suites / Beethoven sonatas / Ravel ?

@Octave Firstly, welcome to the community. I am sorry you have had so many issues to dal with at the same time. I am a stroke survivor, but I have not had any of your issues, but I am sure someone on the community may have experienced some or all of them. I wish you well for the future, keep on keeping on :revolving_hearts: Are you abe to play the piano or has that been taken from you as well?

Hi @Octave & welcome to the community. You sure have a lot going on.

I agree with others that you need to seek urgent medical attention for uour issues.

The advice from @pando is great advice & i would echo what he has said.

Hope things settle for you soon.

Hi @Octave and welcome to the club that no one wants to join. As the others have already said, you need to see gp as soon as possible and take a urine sample with you. The first urine pass of the day as it will have the highest concentration. It could just be a urinary tract infection, which do become an extremely painful burning which can easily be cleared up with a few antibiotic. But with all that you have going on, you really need to see your gp to rule out anything more sinister first. And because of your health condition you should be able to get an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow at the latest.

Dear IreneFC I pray you cannot have these issues  I wish you very well and you never lose that light! No, I never play, would sound like a fish slapping on the keys (Maybe a ā€˜Flounder’ ) Gave away my piano, apprx nine ft of it! It used to stand there, like a reproach   Tho, like Pando said, one can listen, which is a blessing  Wishing you many of those

4th is gorgeous! Milstein my hero, as were Glenn Gould, Helmut Walcha, Karl Richter’s Munich Orch, and Perahia my gold standard for Mozart, as Brendel is for Schubert. Conductors = Giulini and Blomstedt (still conducting though he turns 99 in a few months) !

I had many problems with my affected eye after stroke… one pathway I discovered was looking somewhat towards a setting sun healed me of MGD and blepharitis ; the mitochondria love it. Can be replicated somewhat by a Red Light Panel LLAP

Richter and the B minor mass, that opening shat of light!! I did have the cloth covered box! Perahia is special! I like Schiff in Bach and enjoy Sokoloff’s voicings! I loved playing the Bach Busoni d minor conc., Please forgive my English, this almost sudden loss to my language centre! Ach Zo! I hope you have a pleasant afternoon :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I’m listening a lot to the Polyphonists, Tallis, Palestrina etc
