Unstanding the process of recovery

I was told in July this year that id had a cethepetic stroke. Im registered with the stroke clinic. I am well no real effects, i still work full time. But i find that my memory isnt as good. Ive told my noss and its just shrugged off.
I worry that i may have another stroke and anytime, the doctors have said i still have a blood clot in the brain which is even more worrying.

How does everyone else get over the fear. I feel a fraud as ive has a strke with no visual systoms.

Hi @BLUEBELL1

Fear & anxiety are very normal after a stroke. July isn’t that long ago so you really are early on yet. As time moves forward you should find the fear reduces. I found that to be the case at least. Distraction from your thoughts may help. Getting busy with something else when the thoughts creep in might stop you thinking about it maybe.

The invisible affects of stroke are equally as valid as the physical affects so please don’t feel a fraud. If it was me I would ask my boss to donan Occupational health referral to see if there are any adjustments that can be made to help with your memory issues. Access to work will help fund these if necessary.

Best wishes
