@Rups , aye another great song. The piano really binds the song together. I’m hooked after the first couple of bars. ![]()
You do realise Dave Grohl and Animal went stick to stick to stick in a drum battle. It even made the news.
@Susie1 , yep, can’t beat some Genesis. If you like a non-Peter Gabriel Genesis song, try Trick of the tale. Very melodic. ![]()
@Rups , just watch the Dave Grohl vs. Animal battle. Awesome… ![]()

@Rups , ahh, The Rutles. A great band with Eric Idle (shame he couldn’t play the bass then). My dad loved them. Saw the film and bought the vynil album. Good times. ![]()

Dave/Animal, fantastic…I vote Aniimal!!
@Jbob , the “influencer” generation will not get it. Probably because they didn’t think of it first. Love Kraftwerk btw. Bought a lot of their CDs. ![]()

@ManjiB , good song. I saw their vidro on classic TOTP. I’m sure Paul Young was in the video. Either that or I imagined it. ![]()

You’re right JohnnyBoy - Paul Young did the vocals on this song by the Streetband. He is in this video.
@ManjiB , thought so. I thought my mind was playing tricks with me.
I see Michael Kiwanuka experienced a stroke….wish him the best recovery xx
I am guessing he must be very underrated as he has never been on my radar. I’ll have to check him out on YouTube and certainly would like to join you in wishing him well as he recovers from stroke.
Perhaps you’d like to share one of your favourite songs by him ![]()
His stroke was quite recent and at 39. I had not heard of him until now.
Such a lovely voice, so calming and thoughtful….life is so cruel….but I am sure he will make a very good recovery….i hope he discovers our forum to spur him on ….he is not alone x
If not signposted by SA or another organisation then it is safe to say if he Googles himself, he will now because we’ve mentioned him on here.
Ooo gosh, I didn’t realise that, hope he doesn’t mind!
With comments like this, I’m sure he wouldn’t. ![]()
There’s an interview with Michael Kiwanuka in today’s Guardian. Most here will have an understanding of the scale of the challenge ahead of him. He evidently loves his life in music and I hope he can return to it one day.
That’s a good article, i feel the way he is able to speak about his music is very encouraging and what he says about crying is spot on. I started listening to MK via Radio 6, my go to station, so have followed him for quite a while x
