Trip to Australia

Can I inject an optimistic tone here. I had a brain haemorrhage in May 2023 and last September my wife passed away from cancer of the gallbladder. I live on my own ( with mad cocker spaniel) and am going to get my house fixed up to live downstairs so I don’t need to climb the stairs twice a day. If you put your mind to it, you can improve, you can overcome, you can thrive. Last month I travelled alone to Australia for 12 days to go and watch the tennis and see old friends. I survived the journey and my physio noted a new spring in my step last week. Set yourself goals, be ambitious, be not afraid, look forward- the new ‘you’ is still alive! Here’s me on the final day!!

Sorry to hear about the passing of your wife.

But well done to you on moving forward & embracing life. I bet it was amazing to go to Australia.

As you say try not to be afraid to try something.

Excellent injection of an optimistic tone!
Thanks for sharing, I am sure many will be inspired to follow suit

That’s an amazing achievement, well done you. Sorry to hear that your wife passed away, that’s tough to deal with without the trauma of recovering from a stroke.

It’s great to hear that you are doing so well and embracing life. I’m sure your wife would be very proud of you :two_hearts:. Thank you for sharing your experience, it will be very inspirational to anyone starting their road to recovery.

Keep on Keeping on :+1:

Well done, its very easy to become obsessed with our limitations from ill health and for our world to become smaller when we lose loved ones. What you wrote is a timely reminder that life is to be lived and is precious. I wish you well in your home changes and hope your mad cocker gives you lots of doggie kisses and cuddles. All the best.
