I have been wanting a new kitchen table and chairs for a long while. We are short of space in the kutchen so has taken ages to find something that will fit.
Today I took delivery of a new table and chairs and there the adventure started.
As with everything it needed assembly. I haven’t done anything like this since my stroke so had no idea whether I could sort it or not. Nothing ventured Nothing gained so off I set with a lot of parts, a bunch of tools and some picture instructions. I hate picture instructions- i need words.
I am really pleased. It was very hard work & some of the bolts need to be tightened a bit more (that’s hubby’s job) but we have a functioning table & chairs & will be using them for tea tonight
And, coincidentally, we’ve just bought our new kitchen dinning table today But we won’t be taking delivery of it until the flooring has gone down next month. But it’s a tad bigger than yours because there’s 4 of us to fit round it
Will your hubby double check the joints before he sits down in it I wonder…that’s what mine would do
I think that furniture was a craftily disguised stroke therapy & recovery exercise kit.
Maybe it should be standard issue with a certificate of competence granted on completion of the task. Well done. You passed with distinction and deserve your well earned reward.
Well done Missus. We’ll all be round later to help you celebrate! I would love to celebrate now with a cuppa and a Kit-Kat. Hubby has suddenly gone deaf and we haven’t got any Kit-Kats, Darn it! I’ll have to put t’kettle on mesen, wi’ a mouldy old digestive. Yuk. Best wishes Norma
Excellent, I know plenty of people without strokes who find this kind of thing daunting, so you’ve done very well. Great also that you can sit there and enjoy the results of your labour.
