To carers out there

i would like to say thanks to the work carers do. Yesterday I wanted to go shopping. I don’t drive and the high street here is all dug up. My husband went shopping for me by foot. I gave him details of what I wanted, which shops to go to and samples of what I wanted. They were quite personal things that he normally wouldn’t buy himself. He may not have thought he was being a carer but what is a carer but someone who cares!

Here here. I agree. Carers are amazing people and I know I couldn’t have managed without my husband. He still does a lot for me too. He doesn’t see himself as a carer but he is one.

Thank you to you all. We really do appreciate you.

Spot on Jenny - they are unsung hero’s in my opinion. And caring is hard work but not hard in the sense done out of love. So greatly appreciated.

I have been my wife’s carer for many years. She suffers back problems and we have never found out what the cause of it is.

Now since my stroke the tables have been changed and she’s been mine. But we both now care for each other.

And yes it’s hard work. But it’s what we do for each other. Because we love one and other.

@jenny-wren That’s what husbands are for or if it as the other way around, you would be doing the same. Its natural to do for someone what they cannot do for themselves. Have an amazing day.:revolving_hearts:

My husband is my carer also. He is a dude, and I am so appreciative. It isn’t what he signed up for - I used to be very independent and capable, and feel I’ve let him down through being so in need of care, as I think it’s his appreciation of my independence that first brought us together, and now he has to do everything for me as well as run the house, but I really value what he has done, and wish I could make it easier for both of us.
