Bloody hell looking after your partner and all that housework not surprised youre tired well done! I had anaurism 2 months ago, headaches and fatigue are worst things - I seem to have been lucky relatively free of other symptoms. I can feel incredibly tired, but then change of activity can shift that eg. got up about half an hour ago feeling lifeless but came on here and put a record and energy is different, is tat a clue?
Sounds familiar to me, Im iony two months after anauerism, headache and fatigue are main issues. Plus I had preexistig COPD and breathlessness now much worse. So short walk up to post box is exhausting (and slow!). Concentration comes and goes - does having changes of activity help? Early days I guess.
A lot of people find that developing a sleep routine can be useful with or without stroke. It may take practice but here are some things that may be helpful.
Avoiding cafinated drinks much earlier than you may think (generally 6 hrs before going to bed)
Avoiding blue light from TV, phone or emotional conversations an hour before bed.
Some folks like bed time stories for adults (which my wife enjoys) or podcasts that can invoke restful feelings.
Thinking of things you are greatful for can also aid drifting off.
Good sleep is not always easy to achieve. Its quite normal to not have a solid 8 hours... Sometimes simply knowing that fact can help too.
G'day all, I'm 2 yrs post-stroke and, like many, fatigue is big factor in my life.
I am prescribed 6 medications, 4 of which advise 'may cause tiredness'. Challenge your GP with regards to your medications. I have recently had mine tweaked and am hopeful of changes in my energy levels.
Take a look at the advisory leaflet that comes with your med's. Worth a punt.
Not exactly a speedy reply. I fully understand your concern from having strangers, or people from outside your bubble in.
I got a free boiler and some underfloor insulation. The "surveyor", didn't seem to worry to much about social distancing, but the two teams of workmen were very stricked about masks and distance.
I was concerned, but I couldn't let the chance of a new boiler slip. My old boiler was very much like "Trigger's" broom, in the six years I have been here, the case was the only original part.
Take care Alan, and hope your wife is keeping well.
I had my stroke 3 yrs ago I still get fatigue but it has eased a bit. My stroke has affected my head and double vision in my eyes. about a year ago I saw a specialist who took my blood pressure standing, sitting and lying down and then told me Ishould stop the bloodpressure tablets and take my blood pressure for a fortnight and take the readings to the doctor guess what my blood pressure was brilliant so why had I taken them for so long . Best wishes Norma 81yrs young.
That's kind Boot, sorry about the inordinate delay. Gosh you were a lucky chap in having a new boiler. Our boiler man was supposed to be coming on 2nd Dec but he had been with someone who had the virus so, he's isolating for 14 days. I might even leave it until the new year now.
Difficult times all round. Take care and keep safe, let's hope for a better 2021.
Every good wish and a Very Merry Christmas to you and your family, Alan.
Well done Andy, yes, fatigue is a big issue with me too. Hard to beat it for me. A few weeks ago I did have an additional drug to try and bring down my blood pressue and after ten days I felt dreadful. Spoke to the Doctor who got me in for a blood test. That showed that my sodium levels were dangerously low. So, I'm off that pill as it as the one thing that was sending my sodium levels so low. I seem to be getting much better now but am still going to the surgery every Monday morning for a blood test until she feels I'm improved enough. What a game all this is.
Take care and I must try a bit of music. Every good wish fo a better 2021 and a Merry Christmas to you and your family,
