The night I learned I had stowaway

I am a 50-year-old woman who up until June 5th of this year, believed I was completely healthy.
Finally, laying down to go to sleep with my boyfriend after him being awayfor 2 months and my left arm “died” thought it was a pinched nerve. So I moved it wih my right hand back onto the bed still delusional until I opened my mouth to tell him my arm had no feeeling and had to hold my jaw at the hinge and think really, really hard to formulate the words which still did not come out right. He sprung from the bed as though he had been electrified grabbed my robe ran every red light and had me in th er wihin 5 minutes. For tht i am foever gratful The dr seeing I was rapidally recovering use of arm but still sounded drunk de cided they were going t o give me plavix via a feeding tube 2nd atttempt my voice found Itself and said i know of other bloodthinners ,find one! thy did. 6 hours later I learned that my left ventricle had a resident. I’ve named Ruby, and she had tried to vacate into my brain. Then I learned further that this was actually her third attempt; her prior two attempts. I had dismissed as migraine flashes and severe migranes. So, they went unnoticed now, doctors are trying to help perfect, Ruby’s eviction more safely, and my left side is an entity of its own. It only has extremes, pain, heat and cold. It cannot tell me what I’m holding or what I’m touching unless I’m looking at it. And it gets new bruises every day that I don’t remember getting i went from typing two hundred words per minute, with ninety nine percent accuracy to fifteen words per minute, with eighty percent accuracy

Now a month and a half later if allergies don’t keep me up my legs gave electrical shock therapy machine and jolt me awake when I find it, I’m hiding it from them. Mon I return to cadio dr to check on ruby and have no idea what to expect.

sorry so long I tend to use humor to hide my fear and horror

@Ravyn

Don’t be sorry.

Be brave and know you are not alone.

It is good to hear from you.

best wishes.

I’m guessing it is the middle of the night there. The sun has been up a couple of hours here.

I’m sat in front of a lap top. I am in my fourth year post stroke. I’m still working on a way forward, but have made progress.

I’m sure you will too.

Hello @Ravyn,ditto I’m 50 and a woman too.Unlike you I Haven’t named my aneurysm,but perhaps I should a nice name’ Annie,as I’m not angry at her I’ve long forgiven her arrival and my memory has erased her entrance,I assume to save me the pain of the experience.

I like that you have given your stowaway a name. I was 49 when I had my stroke so very similar age to you. It’s tough hearing the news. You are so early in the recovery process yet. There’s plenty of time for improvement. Your typing speed will improve again & hopefully you will get back to 200 words a minute - which is mightily impressive.

Good luck with your cardio appointment.

Best wishes

Ann
