Reggie is just too gorgeous for words!!
Youâre right I think we need to get the pheasant to properly introduce himself given he has taken root and also bought his family with him. They definitely are a bit daft â I was watching one trying to get to the food once and it was on the wrong side of the fence. So instead of flying over the fence it decided to try and go round the fence. Not such a daft idea but it ran up and down the fenceline looking for a way through but didnât quite run far enough. If it had gone a couple of extra steps the fence finished and there was a lovely big gateway for them to wander through. It did make me chuckle. Eventually it worked it out but it certainly got its daily steps in before it did so.
We have 2 or 3 hen pheasants and 5 chicks at the moment too. The pheasant food costs more than our weekly food shop
Me thinks they are somewhat spoilt and maybe not so daft after all.
I would have cats too if I couldâŚ.but I have the 5 from over the back wall who like to take turns to sit up there (the wall is about 8 feet) and wind Mary and Watson upâŚ. I also have a crows nest in a tree and about a month ago the fledgling was in the garden and couldnât flyâŚ.its parents kept dive bombing Watson and Mary so I kept them in while it learnt to fly over the course of a weekâŚ.i think it might have made it through (as I didnât find a body) and hopefully the cats didnât get itâŚI googled and it said to leave it and let it learn to flyâŚ.i could see it was flapping its wings and it managed to get itself into a nook on the wall (itâs a drystone wall) I did have a sleepless night worrying about it thoughâŚ.hope itâs oot there, flying itâs life in the great wide world.
Doe-eyed doggies, lovely. 100 kilos is massive, but mastiffs can reach those kinds of weights. My dog is large in size but not sure of her weight except when she lies on top of me while I am in bed, and then my legs get an indication of it.
I think dogâs eyes show their intelligenceâŚif only they could talk!
Interestingly, cats have developed up to 150 different sounds to communicate with us bipeds, and dogs reach about 20 in their auditory range. So, they are probably looking at us humans and thinking, if only they could bark or meow.
This little bugger doesnât give me a momentâs peace. Sheâs very much a mummyâs girl and doesnât let anyone else near me, which can be both useful and annoying
. As well as being a good guard dog, sheâs an excellent gardener (digging, âfertilisingâ the borders, relocating invertebrates, seeing off squirrels etc). She goes by the name of Rooby, but also answers to âBog-house Ratâ. I love her so much ![]()

. Is she a ratter or whippet?
Mary is the same! I swear in another life she could have been a Huntress/search and rescue maestroâŚ.she is a good mouser tooâŚwhen Stuart Little appeared from behind the bathtub she was first in there, saw him off. I often bark back at them Rups, but they still donât seem to take much notice of meâŚ.Mary used to like a cup of tea until I found out they are toxic for dogs so now she looks at me accusingly when I have one. Watson just likes to stick his bum in my face.
You can tell from Roobyâs eyes in two of the photos she is thinking different things!

What gorgeous fussiest. My cat did an amazing healing job recently when my foot pain flared up suddenly and I barely made it to the chair. I was very distressed and Lila stopped eating her favourite snacks, came and sat beside me, placing both paws on my forearm as though giving me Reiki. Each time I moved a little, those paws clamped my arm.back own and she looked up with compassion. Photo from another occasion.
Couple of predictive typosâŚpussies not fussiest
How very sweet of her. Animals can be so empathetic.
She doesnât look like a fussy pussy, but she does look a bit perturbed that youâve taken her rightful place.
Maybe she was a Reiki Therapist in one of her nine livesâŚ
