Tiring start to the day this morning, feeling a bit ‘hard done by’. But then the magazine Stroke News dropped through my door. I flicked through it finding a couple of articles very interesting straight away. I was a bit sceptical at first about the magazine when I saw it advertised on the site. I thought it might be another of those ‘Do it my way’ written by folks who thought they knew all about strokes! Yes in a way it is but these people have had a stroke and are sharing their experiences as we do on here. Gave me a reight gud boost so I look forward to reading the next issue. Have a good day all. Those words, shared experiences and opinions, make this world a little less lonely, don’t they? and yes there is a place for us. Have a good day from me too.
keep on keepin on
It is always good to hear the stories of others in a similar position to ourselves. I find it often puts my stroke into perspective a bit especially if I am on a feeling sorry for myself day.
Hope you’ve had a good day.

I read it this evening and it was inspiring. i was especially interested in the feature about Sue McAlpine who had a very severe stroke and was in a coma but has had a remarkable recovery.
She is a very determined lady but she emphasises that she had fantastic physio support, 5 days a week, right from the start and is trying to get the same for other stroke sufferers.
I am thrilled for her but it just highlights how very little therapy my husband received at the outset when he really needed it.
