My old post stroke bones and brain find letting my hair down a little challenging these days, but I managed to get out to the local town Pride festival on the weekend. Probably had one pint too many and so still recovering four days later, but that’s often the result of a festive shindig. Here is a picture of me with Pauline Kaytanua Wood who performs Tina Turner songs. My partner is a drag race binge watcher and couldn’t make it to the festival, so I took this selfie for her. All up it was just like living purely in the present for a night but I don’t think I could do it regularly and might give myself a good year before I let my hair down again. The night wasn’t all peaches and cream, I fell over and lost my glasses, but if you can’t fall over and lose your glasses once in a while, I question what life is really about. ![]()
Great pic @Rups and glad you enjoyed your night out. Like you I have to limit my excitement to now and again as usually takes a good couple of weeks to get back to something like an even keel. It’s worth it though isn’t it ![]()
You are certainly spot on about the recovery time, not like the old days, going to take me a few weeks to get back on an even keel.
I suspect my fall was a combination of booze and heat stroke. I was unaware that if on SRRI medication, one is more susceptible to heat stroke and I didn’t wear my sombrero, and wasn’t as hydrated as I should have been … but only grazed my arm and lost my specs, so don’t worry, be happy. ![]()
Don’t you get superhuman powers if you are wearing a flash t-shirt?
Only if I encounter Ming the Merciless.
YOU GO BOY!!! eat, drink, be merry x
