To create your own new post, just click the square with the little pen sign in grey towards the top right of the screen on you home page.

@Anna_Moderator Anna_Moderator you post some pics with description of how.
My screen is customised so it’s not the default screen. I’m just out at the gym and not as savvy with my phone as I’m with the computer

You need to come out of this post first by clicking the big purple S top left of the screen. That will bring you back to the default home screen. From there you should be able to see pen symbol top right

As @EmeraldEyes has mentioned you will need to come out of the topic and back to the home page, which looks like the below:
Once there, you can click on the ‘New Topic’ button. I’ve popped a picture of where this is below with a red box around the 'New Topic button:

Ok i figured out how to start a new post…. Ut sure its not in the correct area?
