Some sea-side treats

Hello everyone, just back from a short break away. We found a place that was (nearly) up to the wonderful Broad Acres of Yorkshire. We went to Tynemouth and had a wonderful time in our hotel which overlooked the sea shore. Sadly there were no donkeys, Punch and Judy and candy floss stalls.
But we did have a small balcony, where we sat most evenings, with a glass of something, as you do. We had a spectacular view of the rising moon which glowed red. The ships anchored out in the bay were lit up too, creating a magical scene. My best treat was managing to walk across the sand to dip my toes in the sea. It took some effort, but my trusty ole walking poles were a real help for me.
The funniest thing though was getting down to sit on the sand. Talk about a beached whale! But the best part was getting up again. We were howling with laughter as I got up on all fours to ‘finger walk’ up my husband while still anchoring myself into the sand with the poles. I’m sure we looked a right pair of wallies, but to do it at all was perfect. The first time I’ve been on a sea shore since before Covid, then my stroke. I’d love to have got in the sea though and joined all the children having so much fun. Maybe soon?
Nice to be back home though. Best wishes all. Norma

Well done. Sounds like you had a great time, especially if you had a good :joy: laugh whilst enjoying yourself and pushing your boundaries at the same time.

Here’s to many more great trips :clinking_glasses:.

Sounds like you had a great time. I have never been to Tynemouth but I think I might have to add it to the list of must see places.

I had to smile at your description of getting up off the sand. I imagine we have all been like that at some point - you do have to giggle don’t you.

Seaside is my favourite place. You come back feeling renewed. I am laughing reading your story about getting up as I know that problem only too well. You can dip in the sea on another occasion. :soft_ice_cream:
