Socks

What would you all recommend for bedsocks. Loose fitting round feet and legs to accommodate swelling, soft against fragile skin. Thanks.

Oedema or diabetic socks would probably be the type you might want to look into.

I wear bed socks then remove them after my feet have warmed up as I lie awake for quite a long time. They are short and loose to discard easily without getting out of bed and waking partner.

hi i find an electric blanket best , put it on high setting one hour before bed and always turn off before i go to bed for safety reasons - FANTASTIC

feet on the hot water bottle is also good

I wear loose fitting socks made of merino or alpaca wool. Looseness means they occasionally come off at night!

they sound fantastic

Could you recommend a manufacturer please. Sorry can’t do question marks - needs two hands on the keyboard.

Here, here. I try not to wear polyester or synthetics as much as possible and find natural wool much more comfortable. As a tip, if one wants inexpensive new wool socks, sites like Vinted have people selling them for a few quid.

Hi. Having tried all manner of socks, I found wide-fit disbetic socks were best and I wear them in bed to keep my feet warm but change them daily into normal “day socks”.under my shoes. Only problem is that I can hardly walk and I am now 5 years post-stroke but still regaining strength ! So be prepared to be patient. It’s a long haul. Best of luck to you!

Bob.
