Does anyone have differing sensations in their stroke affected limbs, one minute my left leg feels cold then burning and tingling, same with arm. I am walking a little round house with a quad stick and have constant pins and needles in my left arm which has little use. When I wash I’m never completely aware if limbs are dry have to check with my right hand. Just seems to keep changing
I sometimes get a lot of tingling in my affected limbs particularly in my leg but sometimes in my arm too. It isn’t there all the time though so I’m wondering if it is because I have overdone things or maybe because my brain is starting to recognize, particularly for my leg, that it is there and I’m hopeful that that means it will start working again sometime.
Try Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate); I pour a 1kg packet in a bucket of water, and it really helps calm the nervous system, then stick a foot / hand / leg in. I just finished doing it for an hour, just now. I also do grounding on my lawn with the other foot.
That’s what helps me, anyway.

Roland - it seems to me, I can use Epsom Salts as a bath salt?
There are so many bath salts for relaxing, muscle soaks etc. etc. but I had not realised I could use Epsom salts or maybe I am without realising it.
It’s a pity many people have thrown out their baths in favour of wet rooms and showers ![]()
Yes ; You can use Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) OR
Magnesium chloride flakes / in your bath
both are super good ; my understanding is that sulphate fixes nerves
and chloride good for tummy (the chloride dissociates readily from the mg helping you form HCl (stomach acid) in your tummy.)
In both cases you will absorb Mg very well !!
Showers have the advantage of living / active water vs still water
Hi there. I have hypersensitivity constantly down the whole of my left side. There are numerous sensations - burning, freezing, tingling, stabbing, numbness, squeezing as though my arm and leg are in a vice, my foot feels like it is swollen. They all seem to be stacked up on each other. They are all there all the time but they change places in intensity. I am taking pregabalin 50mg twice a day. I have reduced it from 75mg because I wasn’t convinced it helped but I have noticed further intensity since this so may increase if I can’t cope. I find distraction is the key for me. Reading, puzzles, jigsaws, music, socialising, gardening. Not for everyone I know. I also experience decompensation whereby my left leg won’t let me walk for short periods and I have to rest for the connection to recover. Probably when I have overdone things or am a bit under the weather. Fortunately I am a glass half full type but I haven’t found a cure yet but I’m off to buy Epsom Salts as suggested on the thread. My dad used to swear by them. Said “ they’d mend a broken arm” ![]()
