Has anyone had experience with those seated cycle exercisers I see advertised. Do they really work, I need to strengthen my left leg muscles especially around my knee. Stroke was sept 2024 but have had 3 months in hospital total inactivity due to broken thigh after fall gradually getting mobile again with quad stick.
I have one and I find it really useful after mh stroke & it definitely helped strengthen my leg muscles so that I could get back walking again.
I use a seated exercise bike and it has definitely helped strengthen my leg muscles.
Regards Sue
I found that I didn’t have the leg strength for the one we bought. Have a try to see if you can actually use one before you buy.
I’ve had one for many years, I used it in the recovery after my hip replacement, after my broken ankle and then in my stroke recovery. I always found it best when in an upright kitchen style chair.

Do you mean the ones where you sit on the sofa?
I paid 170.00 for one and returned it as they are useless
Stretching exercises give you more strength in your knees.
But you may find one of those bikes fabulous as its only an opinion I have.
It wasn’t for me.
gave me some instructions to use from a chair. No need for buying equipment.
The exercises are strengthening, and help improve balance. All great for improving mobility.
Perhaps she could provide a link or something.
The Stroke Association have some online exercise classes with demonstration videos. I bet @Anna_Moderator could point you at them.
Hi all,
As @Bobbi has mentioned we do indeed have exercise videos. For any of you that are interested in this, you can sign up to our Online Activities to be able to join our exercise session.
