Sea Therapy

Thalassotherapy, or Sea Therapy, live from Kos, Greece. I mention a vast mix of healing topics in this clip, all centered around the Sea. I start off with the importance of magnesium; for our main source comes from the Sea. Certainly Magnesium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate and Magnesium Bicarbonate do, as do we. The Sea conducts, and is therefore grounded, which helps reduce hypertonia, or muscle stiffness. Thus we can establish an important connection between us and the sea, which offers me a weightless environment, facilitating rehabilitation and movement via swimming. Seeing the horizon (whether at sea or on land) settles us into parasympathetic mode, and I explain why. I also touch on Melatonin ; an antioxidant produced by and for our mitochondria in combination with the Sun.

I delve into Iodine, present as a trace mineral in the sea, the ā€˜master of glands’ running the whole show, our thyroid gland, and how it is essential for our health… another case of increasing deficiency; in the last 50 years iodine has reduced 50% for our soil (Brownstein). I mention Selenium, an essential cofactor for the thyroid gland. The perils of the Halogen group of elements; our thyroid will try and use anything that looks like iodine. The Goiter belt in USA is a region high in deficiency of Iodine, leading to goiter, a condition where our thyroid flares up and swells as it looks desperately for iodine. I reveal how metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance and diabetes) is connected and initiates with iodine deficiency. The power of pure minerals, like copper present in much seafood, to drive out toxins and heavy metals. Minerals represent our most precious nutritional original building blocks.

I then talk about the most common form of herpes; known as a cold sore. The power of Electron donors like Calendula, and other things we found in Kos, like cinnamon or Montmorency cherries which I had for breakfast today [Calling Montmorency cherries an ā€œelectron donorā€ is a precise biochemical description of their primary mechanism of action as a powerful dietary antioxidantā€¦ā€œDeep Seekā€] Exercise too, is an electron donor. Nature, and natural cures cannot be surpassed by pharmaceuticals (which all have their origin in herbs and plants.) I finish with my experience and testimonial to the power of the Sea, a liquid medium that vibrates at frequencies compatible with our nerves and nervous system with its reserves of Magnesium, Sulfur, and more.

Lastly, I list the books on health that I read while in Kos:

Water Based Medicine: The Waters of Life by Dr Mark Sircus
The Iodine Crisis by Lynne Farrow
Healing With Iodine: by Mark Sircus
What Doctors Fail to Tell You About Iodine and Your Thyroid by Robert Thompson
Overcoming Insulin Resistance: by Heath Easton
Stretching for 50+: A Customized Program by Karl Knopf
The Seaweed Revolution: by Vincent Doumeizel (still reading)
Spirulina: Benefits of an Ancient Superfood by Mathew Clark
Saltwater Cure: True stories by Ali Gripper
Healing is Voltage: The Handbook by Jerry L. Tennant MD
The Sunlight Cure: Preventing Aging and Reversing Disease by Kendall Toerner
Epi-paleo Rx: The Prescription for Disease Reversal by Dr. Jack Kruse
The Thyroid Reset Diet: by Dr. Alan Christianson

ā€œHealing is Voltageā€ made the biggest impact on me. I also healed my eye (MGD to about 80%) thanks to ideas inspired by ā€œThe Sunlight Cureā€.

Beautiful pictures and enjoying the video content (only half way through). I too love to be in water and have found swimming very beneficial since my stroke. Have always loved being by the sea and feel a special affinity there.
I can see I have a lot more reading and research to do to try to reverse my metabolic syndrome.

Thx for watching - I don’t go into detail about anything - it’s really an invitation to explore further, and what leads me to say what I say (the book list at the end, and my journey that I have lived). Swimming, especially in the sea, is a definite

I think many who have a stroke then go on to develop metabolic syndrome ; worse, all the minerals get depleted, then it’s cardiovascular issues, osteoporosis and more. The pattern is always the same. Hence, I have started humic / fulvic acid (similar to shilajit which I once mentioned here), iodine, urolithin-A, and diatomaceous earth (opal silica)…& magnesium bicarbonate always!

Thanks Roland, I will have a look through some of the books you mention. I am trying to find more natural ways to improve my health as I dont react well to pharma options.

Hi Lizzie,

Yes, I’ve read around 120 books on health, some good some not so. Somewhere on this forum is a partial list. I’m also not into pharma, nor supplements unless it’s magnesium or iodine, my favourite is spending as much as possible on bioavailable food ! Of course it helps if one is rich (I’m neither poor nor rich.)

If you’d ever like a chat, please let me know ! I might have tips ! I might not !

Thanks R,
That would be great. There is so much information out there, its sifting through to find the good stuff from the not so good.
I have just finished reading Dr Malhotras A life without Statins. I finally feel like I have some perspective on them and can make an informed choice on whether or not to persevere with them because of the side effects I have been suffering. I was also interested in what he had to say about diet and reducing heart disease, although I think the biggest contributer to my stroke was stress and diabetes and I need to work on these to start with.
I would be happy to hear what you have to say on biodiversity through food and will have a look through previous posts for some of the books you mention.

Why thank you so much, Mich. Very kind of you. My amazing wife is Simonetta. She is in every clip on my channel ; either in front or behind the camera ! Would be so amazing if you could post your comment on my actual YouTube clip. I have no qualifications in Biology / Chemistry / Physics so am open to comments & discussion ! I am just trying to get from A to B

Hi Lizzie,

Statins & cholesterol ; my nerves would never heal if I took statins because I wouldn’t be able to grow the myelin sheath around the nerve if I took statins. Cholesterol (not having enough) is dangerous ! The truth is very nearly the opposite to what we are told.

The more we increase our nutritional options, the stronger our gut… I felt this coming back from Kos - the food was mass produced tourist food… we had to seek out local produce, like figs, honey, cinnamon, olives … tomatoes and cucumber were pure GMO. I’ve listed the books I’ve read (it will appear if my post is approved) ; I’d keep only 30% of what I’ve read.

Speak soon, ciao, Roland

there are 3 comments so far, so not sure what you mean about comment button not appearing?

We’re Greek mythology fans, though Simonetta has the edge.. did study ancient Greek at uni.

Interesting point about myelin, @pando, I wasn’t aware of that and will be reading more about it later. I’m happily taking my big dose of statins daily, largely to help stabilise the plaque that very likely caused my TIA and so prevent another. No side effects either, but meds and supplements are a balancing act and it’s always good to be aware of what the downsides are as well as the benefits. I totally agree with you on diet and bioavailability, I’ve been trying to address my own metabolic issues and am seeing real improvements from changes in dietary habits.

Hi Paul,

My Bowen Therapist, John Wilks, https://youtu.be/6wiwSEQBJCQ told me.
Magnesium, and Earthing are my 2 main tools against plaques.

Glad you have tweaked your metabolic issues, it’s nice to feel in control, ciao, Roland

Hi Roland,
Thank you for all the information on your posts and the book list. You are an inspiration and I find your posts of great help.
I am going to try and focus on the nutritional route back to health where possible. I have decided statins are not for me, the benefits don’t outweigh the side effects in my case and I am not convinced that cholesterol was the problem anyway.
I also like the bits on greek mythology, perhaps you and your lovely wife would consider doing more on this subject in life after stroke as a regular piece, I would certainly be interested.

Congratulations on being 3 years post stroke and all you have achieved in your recovery. All the best for your 4th year and I wish you continued recovery.

Hi Roland - I am in awe of what you have achieved and continue to achieve. I am curious as to how you manage to fit all these things into your life.

The books you have read is truly impressive. I have always struggled to read books - I can’t stay focused or interested long enough to read then end-to-end. It is much harder reading educational/technical books.

Do you have a method you use to read. For example, someone once told me about how they used to speed read and he said that this meant he read every other page, but I can’t see how you can read every other page and still get the plot. I haven’t tried it but do wonder.

I also get bogged down in detail - so when I am reading a book and come across a new word I feel I must look it up in the dictionary to understand its meaning. I am guessing most people are clever enough to work out the meaning of the word from the way it has been used in the sentence?

It’s great that you are sharing your knowledge with us as if I had to research and find out for myself I would still be at square one

Looking forward to further educational posts from yourself.

Ciao, mon ami.

Yes, this is the only explanation I offer

It’s remarkable how much I have read
Last time I read books was in my teens ; I liked Sci-Fi
Then I became a performing violinist full - time
That was 100% my life
Then I had a stroke, and was unable to play. But they say the brain real-estate gets reassigned. I guess, the space is now used for learning these new things! My Radiologist friend calls me a scientist at heart.

That’s it, and it was not my choice !
What I can say is that having a stroke puts us into uncharted territory
In terms of medical research : Where no man has gone before!

I research purely to ā€˜restore’ my life & happiness
If I can help others on the way that pleases me a lot

I have to say, from very early on after meeting you on this forum, I began to think of you as a Mozart or Leonardo da Vinci. It is not often I say that about someone I have meet, but in your case I am happy to say to me you are the modern day equivalent of Leonardo da Vinci. Just like Leonardo da Vinci you are multi-talented, very modest (not sure Leonardo was) and just a wonderful Human Bean as you like to refer yourself as. I think Simonetta is very similar to you though she has a lower profile on this forum, but from what I have seen I have to say she too is multi-talented and as a couple you are quite a force. It is a pleasure to have met with you
You haven’t mentioned it to much, but it would not surprise me if you were a child prodigy
Bless you both.

Thank you, you are a star !¬!
Your kind words reflect on yourself just as much !!

I’m so excited because I just found out why Epsom salts help my foot nerve !
Further probing revealed the reason Epsom salts were helping me so much: The most important way sulphur supports nerves is by helping to create the myelin sheath. Sulphur is a key component of certain fats (sulpholipids) that are integral to the structure of the myelin sheath. The sulphur helps stabilize the membrane and is involved in the complex process of myelination, which is carried out by Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system (and oligodendrocytes in the central nervous system.) Adequate sulphur is necessary for these cells to do their job effectively. Sulphur does not directly ā€œrebuildā€ nerves, but acts as a vital supplier of high-quality materials (amino acids, antioxidants) and a security team (protection from oxidative stress) that enables the body’s own intricate repair crews to do their job effectively. A deficiency in sulphur-containing amino acids can impair these processes, highlighting just how fundamental sulphur is to neurological health.

Schwann cells: Think of a nerve fibre (axon) as an electrical wire. Schwann cells are the specialized workers that handle the installation and maintenance for these wires.

Paul, FYI

be aware statins (block cholesterol of course) & inhibit absorption of selenium (for glutathione / thyroid function). ā€œStatins interfere with the enzymes that involve seleniumā€ Dr. Berg https://youtu.be/SpA5MJjvRt0 7 minutes in
