RSV Vaccine

Hi everyone,

My husband is due to have his RSV vaccine tomorrow, just wondering if there is anything I should be concerned about. He has reactions to so many things I’m wondering if it worth it or not

I would mention your concerns when he goes for the vaccine and get them to explain it all to you.

My hubby had the RSV vaccine and had no issues but then he tolerates most meds he has take over the years quite well. It won’t be the same for everyone.

I guess what you need to work out is what benefit there is to him having it against the risk of the side effects and whether those sode effects are just short lived or not.

@Mamagill - Ann @Mrs5K has summed it up very well in the above sentence. I can add no more other than to say that most if not all medicines carry a risk in terms of potential side effects though not everyone will experience them. Many people benefit from medicines but some do not.

If you are offered a vaccine, you do not have to take it. You can choose and as Ann says, you should weigh up the pros and cons and then decide what might be right for you.

On a personal level, my Mum has refused to take vaccinations of any sort for many years and she has never regretted it. Her immune system has been strong enough to fight off any viruses or bacteria that she has been infected by. But that is just a personal thing - there is no wrong or right, only what is right for you.

Thank you both, I actually cancelled the appointment as he has been very confused again and I didn’t want to run any risk of it continuing as it’s hard work to say the least! I also had a good read of all the literature and decided it’s worth the risk not to have it
