Returning to work as a primary teacher

Hello - I am hoping to connect with other primary school teachers who have returned to work following stroke. I had an artery dissection that led to a stroke in May. Looking for advice on phased return and if successfully able to return to teaching.

Hello, I’m not a teacher but am around 12 weeks into returning to work on a phased return.

I wish you all the best with your return.

Please be kind to yourself and be sure to take things slowly.

@JodieT hi & welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of your stroke.

I am not a teacher but have returned to work. It waa much harder than I expected but definitely has its benefits. I do work part time now though.

I have come across quite a few teachers who have returned to work after a stroke with varying degrees of success. I think it all depends on how you have been affected.

If you can get your emploter to do an Occupational health referral to get their view on any adjustments you may need forca successful return. I would advise a phased return too and maybe you could go in forva couple of days, sit in a class & see how you get on.

Good luck.
