Hello Susie - nice to meet you.

We have a Oxford Midi 180 hoist and we use it to hoist Mum from chair to bed and back. The chair has been provided as part of the ongoing care package that Mum has been given as part of her conditional discharge from hospital after she was declared medically fit.

As far as I can tell the Oxford Midi 180 is designed to be used for this purpose and so I would expect any chair would be compatible. Mum is petite and so we have the “smallest” size available but it is still quite big. We also transfer Mum to her wheelchair using this and if anything that is more trickier.

If it helps, the dimensions are
28 " wide by 28 " deep by 40 " tall (71cm x 71cm x 102cm)

I hopes this helps.

Thank you so much, that is really helpful. We have been told the hoist legs have Togo around the outside of the chair sides.

My MIL has not been issued with a chair as part of her discharge package.

Thanks again

They will Susie.

The hoist legs open out to 40 " at the front and 21" at the back forming a V shape at then allows you to hoist the person into the chair.

Wishing you and your MiL all the best.
